Lord Harlorn
Lord Harlorn was one of the founders of the Deep Spire as well as chief of the Tideborne Tribe tribe over 200 years ago. It was he that led a nameless orog tribe to the waters of the Black Loch where they built a new home for themselves, fueled by their powerful muscles and prayers to Luthic, Orc Goddess of Caves. His people turned to piracy on the Black Loch for a living, scouring its waters for the supplies they needed to survive. This eventually brought them into conflict with the duergar of Brazenthrone, their main rivals for ore that each side needed for smelting.
A week before the duergar were due to attack, House Vaerixas arrived on the Black Loch and their leader, Ysri Vaerixas, made a deal with Lord Harlorn. Her people, namely the Sword Dancers, provided military aide against the duergar and were given a home on the Deep Spire instead. In the days that followed, Ysri convinced Lord Harlorn that the Deep Spire could be turned into a settlement for trade where his people could turn their years worth of plunder into coin.
Harlorn agreed to a two-year trial period for this plan, which was quickly adopted as a permanent policy as business boomed. The new center of trade was co-ruled from that day forward by Lord Harlon and Ysri Vaerixas, who enjoyed a beneficial partnership until Harlorn eventually died of old age and passed his position down to his today. Today, it is his great-grandson Lord Varl that rules alongside Ysri, though the pair do not get along anywhere near as well as Harlorn and Ysri did.
