The Animal Lords

While the gods of the mortal races are well-known, the Animal Lords responsible for the non-sapient creatures are more mysterious. Only those with powerful connections to the animals of the world can claim to have even the slightest inkling about these entities. Each rules over certain species of animals, representing their subjects in otherworldly courts outside of the Material Plane. Despite these duties, they often find the time to amuse themselves by intervening in the affairs of mortals as they see fit. Despite there being no official alliance between the Animal Lords as a whole, they are commonly referred to as a group by mortals who enjoy categorizing things.
