The Silverwing Squadron

The Silverwing Squadron is 1 of the 2 that make up The Windrider Legion. This squadron is very much the magical arm of the guild, they are light ranged scout cavalry, and so, lightly armored and swift. The Silverwings invisibly scout the battlefield on silent wings and report back before the Steelwing Squadron and the Windrider engage the enemy. Once battle is joined their main tactic is to reinforce and support the griffon cavalry using area spells on enemy groups focusing mainly on groups with ranged attacks. Other tactics include shaping the battlefield advantageously with wall or grease spells and the like, using magic to empower other riders and their mounts and diverting attention by using illusion spells. Only the most proficient battle mages and spell weavers are invited to join the Silverwing Squadron. All members of the squadron ride giant owls from the aerie of the Throne of Stars
