Luna Lodge

Luna Lodge was an inn located near the border of the Muryer and Crashwine provinces in Alaj, and was also the site of a surprise attack during the Alajan Conflict. Diplomatic groups from both provinces had selected the location for a peaceful meeting, but they were attacked by an invisible enemy, who open-fired on the room. The only survivor was a girl serving tea, who was found cowering in the kitchen much later. The serving girl swore that the attackers must have been using Invisibility magic, as the bullets had come from nowhere. Both provinces claimed the other had been the perpetrator. Unfortunately, the reknowned truth wizard, Kasper Madsen, had been invited to mediate the discussion and also been killed in the crossfire. There was no one left to make sense of the scene.

Whatever the case, most travelers in Alaj are no careful to avoid Luna Lodge, which still stands, empty, where it was thirty years ago. Those who have gone near have told stories of apparitions seeking revenge on their unknown attacker. Others say the lodge is now run by a ghoul and it stinks with the dead bodies he brings in to eat. But those who seek the Crown Staff of Dusk, the famous staff of truth made by Airrin Underwood have no choice to stay away, as Madsen almost certainly had it with him the day he was shot, and so it lays dormant in the haunted inn, waiting for its new bearer to find it.
