Theories Behind the Diamondheart Die-Off

No one is entirely sure what happened in the Diamondheart Die-off, other than extensive death, and that the secret is buried at the bottom of Auras Pond. The following are some of the most popular theories.

• A great monster came and made people into their dinner. It tore people apart with their claws and teeth until they were able to drown it in the pond.This theory is arguably supported by the writings of a 2nd century seer who claimed they dreamed of creatures attacking the country. The description of these monsters was similar to that of the Janishbu of Zenxonian myth.
• An evil spirit arose and began to draw the life out of Diamondheart's citizens, until they were able to send it back to the underworld and bind it there.
• An outsider arrived to meet with the king. While in the country, he caused an uproar, convincing people to kill each other. When the king realized this was The Great Tempter, the king was forced to abandon certain areas of the country to themselves
