Yujin Park
Yujin's parents were mid-low rank NCPD officers assigned community patrol in Kabuki, both were highly regarded by the community. They were killed in an altercation between the Metal Warriors and Red Chrome Legion in the days before the consolidation of the gangs into what would eventually be known as the Maelstrom. Yujin was too young to really remember them but they've grown up hearing stories about them from their older brother and the people of the community.
Without parents, Yujin grew up with their older brother looking out for them, under the supervision of a trusted friend of their parents by the name of Axel Murphy. Axel is on of the last 'good cops' in Night City - so far as Yujin can tell anyway. Yujin's brother joined the NCPD straight out of high school, wanting to live up to the ideals he had of who their parents were and protect the neighborhood from gangs like the newly formed Malestrom. Ultimately, Yujin's brother met the same fate as most of the cops in Night City - flatlined in a shootout with chromed up cyberpsycho Malestromers.
Yujin has had a grudge against the members of the Metal Warriors, Red Chrome Legion and Ironsights all their life and now that they are consolidated to the Maelstrom, they have a single focus for all of their anger. Wiping them out, they believe, will bring real lasting peace to the streets of Kabuki. The Maelstrom have it out for the NCPD in general - but Yujin's grudge is much more personal. They know the damage these gangs can do, and how good community policing keeps kids from joining these kinds of groups - but they also know first hand how the bureaucracy and mountains of red tape the NCPD corporation operates under hamstrings it's ability to do much of anything - not to mention the rampant corruption in the upper echelons of the force.
