Paleostomatosoidea

The Paleostomatosoidea is an order of amphibian ubiquitous to the planet's oceans.   This order is found inhabiting almost every oceanic zone, from the Epipelagic to the Hadalpelagic with enormous evolutionary radiation; historically being one of the most successful orders of amphibians, they almost went extinct 32 million years ago, at the end of the last Cycle. The order currently is home to some of the most efficient hunters on the planet, from the Kugawinae to the Aratropiscidae, they cover niches from the bottom feeder to the apex predator.   While not the most prolific order on the planet, it's still healthy with plenty of genera still residing in it.   Paleostomatosae proper is classified as all the amphibians more closely related to Nulù abyssus than to Kugawa velis.   While more derived forms have found many niches to thrive in, Paleostomatosae proper is relegated to few, specialized niches in restricted areals around the planet.   These amphibians are visually characterized by a fixed tuberculus, the absence of Jaws and a Euabsorbed armour.
