Precursor Tubes
Small cilindrical artefacts created long ago by the Precursors for miscellaneous use in everyday life.
Both the external surface and the internal core are made of unknown materials, seemingly impossible compounds that wouldn't be possible in our universe, hence the name Exotechnologies; The internal core of Exomatter sits in an inactive state, contained by the specialized tube; breaking the external seal results in the immediate termination of the Exomatter by internal failsafe mechanisms. Researchers that managed to inhibit these safety mechanisms and released the raw exomatter to study it, ended up consumed by the ever-expanding black mass that only the Deshivohai could stop from expanding. The top of the cylinder has a small display-like panel flashing symbols and colours; pressing the display seems to do nothing, however, Deshivohai seem to be able to extract the core and use it to create matter seemingly, without need for physical interaction with the tube itself. Along the body of the tube there are inscriptions in varyingly coloured lettering roughly translated as "Warning, contains highly unstable matter, use with standard implants", to this day no one knows exactly what "implants" refers to. The whole technology, although full of intricate parts, is extremely light, so much so that it would be considered impossible to attain.

Mechanics & Inner Workings
Very little is known about Exotechnologies in general, Precursor tubes included; the Exomatter contained inside the tube alone is a mystery, humanity struggling to even define its physical properties.
Significance
As with all Exotechnologies, Precursor Tubes are sought after on the black market by enthusiasts rich enough to afford one.
Only possessing such an item is enough to project one's reputation into stardom in the underground communities that recover and collect Precursor Artefacts.

Rarity
While not incredibly rare to find tubes, seen how widespread they were in Precursor culture, the value of its contents are unimaginable.
Inside the strange tube of unidentifiable nature there's a core of pure inactive Exomatter; enough to be able to give energy reliably to a whole city for years, if humanity found a way to harvest and use it.
What makes the Tubes rare is how the Deshivohai confiscate any and all Precursor technology they find, with complete disregard of local or national law.
Given its origin and potentially dangerous contents, the Deshivohai reclaim it as their property.

Consumed by the ever expanding matter? That sounds.... Painful... and dangerous. Nice piece of tech! I like the details you give and I love how you include safety mechanisma. Like so few people realize EVERYTHING has safety mechanisms. Great work.
Thanks! Precursor technology is not something to mess around with. It is often above our comprehension and potentially very dangerous
Which means it's the first red button I wanna push! Yessss. Also love the cover image! Forgot to mention that earlier. Till next time!
