Avolen

The capital of the Kingdom of Aurelia and situated in the last temperate area so far north in Kalin, Avolen is a testament to the independent spirit of the Aurelians. It's people and architecture defy foreign invasion as much as the elements. 
The city was party to several important events at the end of the Second Age, including the last battle of the Aurelian Civil War and the Battle of Avolen.

Demographics

Avolen is sometimes seen as the last bastion of Civilization before heading into the frozen and hard north of Nordanvald. As a result many explorers and caravans stop in Avolen to supply or trade their wares.
Racially the city is mostly Human/Norse, along with strong populations of Dwarves, Olark, and even Drow.

Government

The city itself is ruled by a Nadzorca which is elected by locals, the Nadzorca rules both the city itself and is responsible for the governance of the Avolen Allod.
