The Order of the Vengeful Cinders

Founded shortly after The Return, the Order of Vengeful Cinders is a Paladin Order dedicated to following the teachings and examples of Saint Celadrien of the Blessed Dead. They are one of the few single-gender Paladin Orders remaining in the common day, only allowing women into their order.
Known for their fiery dispositions and their quick and devastating dispensations of justice, the Cinders are both beloved and somewhat feared around the continent. A Cinder arriving in a town means that those who do wrong will often tread carefully and in fear, but it also means that a Cinder may take the law into their own hands, damned be the consequences. Since the Cinders focus on fire magic for their paladin training, they may also burn down a tavern or restaurant in their pursuit of justice.
While the Orders numbers have gone up and down throughout the thousand years since the Return, it has stayed an ever constant presence in Kalin to some degree or another.

Structure

The Order maintains a general hierarchical structure familiar to most Paladin Orders of old.
Trainees often seek out the order, and must either be sponsored by a fully fledged member, or chosen by a Sister-At-Arms for training. An inordinate percentage of trainees usually come from the Mantle Churches Shelters, which often preach the words of Saint Celadrien.
Once a trainee completes their training, which usually consists of Religious Studies, Combat Studies, and Academic Studies; they take the Orders Paladins Oath. Provided they survive the Oath, they become Sisters of the Order.
There are several special titles one can earn from the general title of "Sister" such as:

• Sister-At-Arms, who is responsible for choosing and training new trainees from those who wish to join, as well maintaining an Order Hall's weapons supply.
• Sister-Priest, who is responsible for an Order Halls religious aspects.
• Sister-of-Mercy, who is usually the healer of their assigned hall.
• Sister-of-Tomes, an Order Halls librarian

And a few others.
One can become a Sister-Superior, which is a more senior rank in the order. The order hierarchy goes up to the Abbess, who acts as the Grandmaster of the Order and is chosen by a vote of the Sister-Superior's after the death or resignation of the last Abbess.

Culture

As their name implies, the Order of Vengeful Cinders is one of fiery and fierce tempers. Taking their cue from their example, Saint Celadrien, the Sisters emphasize the vengeful nature of justice upon those who would prey on the weak and infirm. Due to the life and ways of Saint Celadrien, they have a special hatred for those who abuse their spouses or children; but injustice and evil in general gather their ire.
