Triton
An underwater people, Tritons are a rarely encountered people and often assumed a myth, if they're known at all.
Tritons are unmistakably aquatic people, having fish-like skin, gills on various parts of their bodies, and even flippers. Every aspect of them screams that they adapted to live under the sea. Despite this, at least from what is evident, they can breathe above water, or at least have a method for doing so.
Little is known of their origins or society, as what few Tritons are encountered don't speak much of it. It is known that they seem to have an advanced society, or at least some of them do, and that they think rather highly of whatever society they have set up beneath the waves. Though many a Triton traveler have been recorded as remarking on how "divided" the surface world is, whatever that may or may not indicate.
