Yirontir
The main home of the Loxodon of Lethennor, Yirontir is an attempt to reclaim the glory of old-Yiron, the original civilization of the Loxodon.
After the destruction of the Yiron civilization at the hands of the Atkorians, many Loxodon wandered Lethennor aimlessly. During the time of the Carlegnian Empire the Loxodon were given a new home in Eastern Lethennor that they named Yirontir, after their old home civilization.
Now the city serves as the home of many Loxodon, who have rebuilt some semblance of their original grandeur in the city. The city is one of the largest in Lethennor and is predominantly populated by Loxodon who built it in the traditional Loxodon city. The city is also a deeply pious one, taking the worship of Sulanar extremely seriously.
Demographics
The city is predominantly made up of Loxodon. While the city has other races living in it, the dedication of the city to the Loxodon and the emphasis on rebuilding the idea of Yiron has just naturally led to Yirontir being made up mostly of Loxodon.
Government
Yirontiri is ruled by the the not-so-cleverly named Knightly Order called The Knights of Yirontir. Made up almost entirely of devout Loxodons, the Knights of Yirontir are led by their Knight Patriarch, a title that is equal parts secular and religious in function. The order is based out of Yiriontir, with its hall being the largest building in the city.
Defences
The city lies amongst a small but steep mountain range that makes approaching it extremely difficult for any army, much in the way the original Yiron was defended. Further, with the city being the home of the Knights of Yirontir it is well defend by elite Loxodon Knights.
Industry & Trade
The city most subsists off of its own farming, mining, and craftsmen. It exports its excesses to the rest of Lethennor, but those exports are relatively little.
What Yirontir does export however, are priests. Yirontir is often seen as a necessary step on the path to becoming Chief Patriarch of the Church of Sulanar.
History
Yirontir was founded shortly after the rise of Frant Carlegn, who helped spread the beliefs of Sulanar, the religion of the Loxodon people. In an attempt to allow the Loxodon to rebuild their once proud civilization he gave them the mountain range its built on, which the Loxodon have constantly built upon since.
When the time of the Carlegnian's came to an end, Yirontir was actually one of the last parts of Lethennor to turn upon their masters. Only turning when the Church did.
Architecture
Yirontir architecture is directly lifted from old-Yiron in form and function, with pyramid-like structures and temples jutting out of the warm forested mountains.
Geography
Yirontir is located in the small but steep mountain range now known as The Mountains of Lox-Yir, making travel dangerous off of the primary roads into the region.
Natural Resources
The area around Yirontir offers ample opportunity for mining, and even farming on the flatter parts of the mountains.
