Criminal Activity
Natalya runs into Nerlureel and his son Tarin. They chat and then Natalya feels a pickpocket steal Fenneck's ring from her finger. She moves to chase down the thief and she, Nerlureel and his son end up on a ferry headed for Sivania.
Natalya walked through the streets of Tempestua remembering the last time she had been there. When they had been chasing Kahndyr down to retrieve a cursed medallion. Natalya heard an oddly familiar deep voice call out her name. She immediately became scared. Who did she know here? She looked over to where the voice was coming from and saw an older giant black dragonborn with golden eyes. He was wearing black and red armor and had giant white horns on his head. He was with a skinny human teenager with jet black hair and green eyes. He was wearing purple and black armor. Natalya saw a giant, all too familiar, wing on the back of the dragonborn and realized it was Nerlureel. She greeted him and walked over. He had aged significantly since she had last seen him. She wondered if there was a reason she had felt the call to come here, a reason other than her pre-wedding jitters. "Hey Natalya! How have you been?" The dragonborn greeted her. "Fine, how about you?" She asked, a bit apprehensive. She trusted him enough considering the adventure they had been on before but was still hesitant to open up too much. "Good good. Henryk and I got married. This is our adopted son Tarin." He turned to the boy, "Tarin, this is Natalya." Nerlureel said proudly. She watched Tarin's eyes light up with recognition. She could tell he was excited. "Nice to meet you." She said. "My dads have told me all about you...and Arrallath!" He said excitedly. She smiled at his excitement, it reminded her of Niko. They chatted for a bit before Natalya felt a strange sensation come over her, or rather leave her. Fenneck's ring. She stopped talking and looked around to see a hooded figure running by them. Nerlureel exclaimed something about his wedding ring missing and Natalya began the chase. She ran and casually climbed up a wall of supply crates and barrels and leaped gracefully onto the roof. She spotted the thief running below, toward the river entrance. Natalya swung down a long flag line, soaring over Tempestua. She felt her heart pound with excitement. She hated how much she enjoyed this. She carefully weaved in and out of the people crowding the ferry check points. She kept her eye on the thief and finally boarded passage onto the ferry. He heart dropped when it announced it's destination was Sivania. Oh well. Sorry Fen. She couldn't imagine going home with out her ring though. The first gift Fenneck had ever given her. She moved through the ferry looking for the thief and found that Nerlureel and Tarin had also boarded. "He stole my wedding ring! We have to find it or Henryk will kill me!" Nerlureel exclaimed. "Let's work together then." Nat said and they began exploring the ferry as it left the shores of Arrallath. Tarin looked excited, as if this was some grand adventure. Nerlureel decided to keep an eye on the stairs so Natalya and Tarin could go down below. They opened the door Natalya looked down carefully into the depths of the ship, looking for anything out of the ordinary. Tarin, clearly trying to impress her, also leaned forward. Natalya could tell he didn't know what he was doing and found his behavior charming until he leaned a bit too far forward and stumbled down the entire flight of stairs. So much for being sneaky. She thought to herself and followed the boy downstairs. They came back up empty handed and they continued exploring the boat. Eventually they came across a table with a male human and a male wood elf who seemed to recognize Natalya. He called out to her and Nerlureel and she suspiciously walked over. The wood elf introduced himself as an advisor to Zeitdrache named Kai. His human companion's name was Tebi and he acted as Kai bodyguard. Kai told her and Nerlureel that they had been sent by the king to find the hero's of Arrallath. Natalya was suspicious but couldn't find a reason not to trust them. Kai asked them to come with him to meet the lord of Sivania, Rajyet. Natalya decided they might as well. They all headed up to the deck to continue looking for the thief. Suddenly there was a skirmish on the mountains along side the river. Natalya watched as the sky grew dark and the sky opened up to a dark vision. Natalya felt a great sense of horror and pain well up in her as she saw the all to familiar form of the Demogorgon attacking some other vile demon. She felt herself overcome with dread. What had she done. Maybe coming to Arrallath was a huge mistake. As suddenly as it had appeared the vision vanished and Natalya looked over at Nerlureel to make sure it wasn't just her head playing games with her. He looked at her, his face full of fear. Suddenly they felt the ferry shake and a large blue half-orc with white hair suddenly got thrown across the ground. Natalya saw a flicker in the air as a displacer beast started attacking them. Natalya and Nerlureel drew their weapons. Tarin followed suit, his eyes glossed over from the excitement of it all. Natalya's heart rushed with adrenaline. She hated how much she love to fight. It felt like second nature to her. It was what she was born to do. Eventually they beat the disgusting cat back into the mountains and it disappeared. Tarin was bursting with excitement now. They soon saw the docks of Sivania and they made their way to the front of the boat. As the boat docked, Natalya noticed someone dart by. The thief. She quickly drew her bow and show him in the foot. He went down and was suddenly surrounded by herself, Nerlureel, Tarin the half-orc from earlier and a half-elf male in elaborate armor. "Who are you?" Natalya asked aiming her bow at him. He turned to her and Nerlureel. He looked familiar for some reason. He spit at them and Natalya made him empty his pockets. He did and he yelled at Nerlureel that this was all his fault for fucking up his first job all those years ago. Slowly Natalya recognized him as the young thief they had encountered in Tempestua thirty years ago. Suddenly a flash of magic threw them off guard and the thief ran off. They had their things though. Natalya reached down and picked up her ring. She felt a wave of relief, comfort and warmth come over her as she slipped it around her finger and felt Fenneck's familiar magic encompass her. Kai and Tebi came up behind them and asked that they accompany them to the palace in Sivania. Might as well. Natalya thought. It might be nice to say hi to Rajyet again and maybe win some points for Fenneck and his relationship. She followed Kai off of the ship accompanied by Nerlureel, Tarin, the half-orc and the half-elf.
