Life, Identity
Jasna comes and talks to Fenneck and convinces him to stop being a little bitch.
Fenneck turned the page of the novel he was reading and heard a knock at his door. It was already well into the afternoon and he hadn't bothered to put any clothes on yet. He slowly put the book down and stood up. He walked over to his wardrobe and threw on his long, silvery blue robe over his naked body. He quickly brushed out his hair in the mirror and turned to the door. Could Natalya finally be visiting him? The Festival was two days away and Fenneck had spent the last week and a half alone in his room, recharging from their escapades in the mountains. He didn't miss her. It still felt like she was with him which Fenneck both liked and found annoying. He hesitantly opened the door and saw Jasna smiling at him. "Oh, it's just you." He said, clearly disappointed. Jasna took offense to this. "What the hell have you been doing? You've barely left your room this week!" She scolded him. He rolled his eyes at her, "What do you care?" He walked over to his kitchenette and found some bread for a quick breakfast. She came in and closed the door behind her. "I care because I'm confused as to why your thiramin is also in her room sulking. What the hell happened out there? There are tons of rumors going around." She sat down at the table and drummed her fingers at him wanting answers. Fenneck grabbed an apple and a cutting board before joining her at the table to eat his meal. "No doubt started by you." He said passively as he cut into his apple. She sighed dramatically, "Seriously, Fen. What's wrong?" Fenneck finally looked up at her, "She left me for someone else." He tried to sound as if he didn't care. Jasna nodded, clearly not finding this answer to her liking. "I know. Baegla told me that much. Who is he?" Fenneck took a bite of food and thought for a moment, "He was her partner in the KAV. A half-elf." Jasna rolled her eyes again at how childishly defiant Fenneck was being, "So...why did she come back?" Fenneck sighed, "She didn't. Not intentionally, at least." She gave him a look and he huffed before giving in to her pestering curiosity. "A couple weeks after I left, I found her next to death in a pile of snow in the mountains unconscious. So I brought her back to my cave and nursed her back to health. I never asked why she was there or what happened when she went to Lenisily but I can imagine it didn't go well. She decided to stay with me and help with mapping the mountains." "So you two are together then?" She asked, confused. "We're... I don't know. We haven't been. I've tried to just be friends with her. To... get to know her." He tried explaining himself. "So you haven't had sex yet?" She asked both in shock and annoyance at his prudishness. "No! You know you're supposed to wait with thiramin." He scolded her. She folded her arms and leaned her head back, studying the ceiling. "I guess I shouldn't be surprised. You and Erikur lived together for almost an entire century without banging each other." She wined with boredom before walking over to his kitchen and grabbing an apple for herself. "If you need some practice before you're with her, I am more than willing to offer my services." She suggested teasingly. "Absolutely not. I thought we agreed that you'd stop offering?" Fenneck shook his head at her in annoyance. Jasna smiled and shrugged as she sat back down, "I know. I just feel bad for you." Fenneck sat back in his chair, "I'm well aware. You know not everyone needs to fuck every person they meet. I don't judge you for it, I would just appreciate the same respect from you about my own choices." He told her coolly. "Very well." She said with mocking formality. "I just think it would do you some good is all." She said, rolling her eyes. "I don't know if I want to be with her like that, anyway." He said, turning his attention back to his food. Jasna tilted her head. "What do you mean? She's gorgeous, Fenneck. She likes you enough to be stuck with you alone for a year and not want to kill herself so I'd say she's a perfect fit." She said sarcastically. Fenneck rolled his eyes. She huffed aggressively, "You're being a stuck up prick, Fenneck. You should loosen up before the sexiest woman in the world walks out on you again." Fenneck glared at her. She continued, "I'm surprised she hasn't already, you prudish, grumpy, plague-sored ballsack." She said smugly, finding her insult clever. Fenneck looked away from her, "What's your angle in coming here?" He asked her, annoyed by her intrusion and insults. "I just think you should be with her! If you don't, I will." She threatened. Fenneck shrugged, "If she's interested, you have my full blessing." He told her mockingly before standing from the table and rinsing his dishes off at his kitchenette. He couldn't tell if Jasna was serious or not and found himself getting a little jealous at the idea. "You're ridiculous." She said, standing and walking toward the door, "At least consider it." She said before leaving and closing the door behind her. Fenneck sighed and went back to his bed to lay down and close his eyes. "She makes some good points." Erikur said, pacing the room in his own shiny, lavender, floor length robe. He was always so majestic in his fancy clothes. Fenneck especially loved the matching feather earrings he always wore. "Like what?" Fenneck asked him. "That you're being a grumpy ballsack." Erikur teased before leaning back gracefully against Fenneck's desk and casually playing with a large, feathered quill. Fenneck sat up and put his head in his hands, "I don't know what to do Erikur. I don't hate being alone, now that I think about it." Erikur took a deep breath and looked at him sadly. "Of course you do. Why do you keep pretending I'm here? Or Evelyn? Why can't you just let us rest?" Fenneck looked away from him guiltily, "I don't know Erik. Who cares?" Fenneck stood up and went to him. "I like pretending you're here." He told his imaginary friend. Erikur took him in his arms and pulled him close. Fenneck closed his eyes and felt Erikur's hands caress his back and admire his shoulders. Erikur nuzzled his face, "I wish you would have shown me how strong you've become since you beefed up in the wilds." He whispered sensually into Fenneck's ear. "Me too." Fenneck breathed into Erikur's ear, ruffling the purple feathers dangling from his earring. Fenneck let himself go to his fantasy once again. This time though, Erikur stuck around when they finished and they laid in bed together, caressing each other's slender bodies romantically. "You like the feeling of her, don't you?" Erikur asked him about his thiramin connection to Natalya. Fenneck sighed, "I... suppose. It's odd." "She's really beautiful, Fen. You should lean into it more. It was nice having her jump in there at the last minute. You know I'm all for welcoming a beautiful wood elf into our bed." Erikur smiled at Natalya's sudden intrusion into Fenneck's thoughts. Fenneck blushed, "It just...happens. I can't really control it. I can feel her with me so... strongly compared to- " Fenneck looked away from Erikur. "Compared to me?" Erikur finished for him. Fenneck sighed in shame. Erikur caressed his chest, "It's okay. It's probably healthier than this." Erikur teased him. "Do you think she would have liked you?" Fenneck asked him, becoming more serious. Erikur pondered this for a moment before smiling, "I do. I think she would have liked me more than she likes you even." He teased. Fenneck rolled his eyes and couldn't help himself from smiling as he thought about Natalya. "I think so too. Everyone likes you, though." Fenneck pointed out. Erikur smiled, "Evelyn didn't." Fenneck shook his head, "You two liked each other, you just didn't like sharing me." Erikur smiled guiltily, "Perhaps. But I like Natalya. She's almost as depressing as you are." Fenneck sighed and admired Erikur's golden hair in the light of the fire. "I'll go to her tomorrow and... try and figure this out." Fenneck decided. Erikur smiled, "Good. You should get some rest, Fenneck." Erikur stood to go. "Please stay with me." Fenneck begged him. Erikur sighed, "Come on, Fen. You know as well as I do that you're not lonely tonight. Embrace it. Embrace her. She's your soulmate, not me." Erikur drifted away and Fenneck sighed. He felt the warm, gentle presence of Natalya and closed his eyes. It felt like she was leaning against him and he smiled at the idea. He took a deep breath and started meditating.
