Maltear Town
A town built upon the ancient ruins of a long-gone civilization, Maltear houses the Iritian Draconians, people who are renowned for their mastery in metallurgy.
Demographics
The settlement is exclusively Draconian, mainly because of the dangers that its open foundries and molten canals present. One of the most prevalent professions is working in or around the metalworks, specifically alloying or casting products through usage of Fire magic.
Infrastructure
Maltear, over 3000 years ago, was a stone civilization built by the ancient residents of Irite Jungle. The structures created by those peoples have since been repurposed into foundries that are present all across the town. Another notable feature of the town, stemming from these furnaces, are the canals that run along the stone walkways of the town. These canals were made to carry molten metals from their point of melting and refinement to larger establishments, where they are casted into objects or turned into more specialized alloys.
Districts
Maltear is split into two sections: The metalworks, which contain shopfronts, workshops, and foundries, and were built out of stone over ancient ruins, and the treetops, which are dedicated to more humanitarian establishments such as schools or housing.
The metalworks are located on the ground level and are made entirely out of stone, to avoid the risk of jungle wildfires. As the name of the district would suggest, this area is dedicated to Maltear's main industry of foundry.
Inspired by Avian architecture, the treetops are an expanse of boardwalks and bridges that string from tree to tree, forming something of a ring around the metalworks on the ground. The treetops contain vastly more residential buildings than the ground level, and also harbor most of the town's restaurants. Storefronts selling the pieces created in the metalworks are common, as opposed to the shops that peddle tooling and raw materials on the ground level.

Architecture
Despite the origin of its people, Maltear does not actually exhibit any Draconian architecture. In the treetops, houses resemble Avian homes, with open, connected, pavillion-like buildings made from the wood of the jungle. Down on the ground level of the town, the architecture is a strange amalgamation of ancient ruin and newer Draconian masonry. The ruins that once formed an ancient civilization appear to have been created with the use of Earth magic, despite the apparent lack of Golems anywhere near Irite. Rather than completely clearing the ruins, the Draconian settlers decided to build upon the ruins with their own stonework and repurpose the foundations into new buildings.
