Maximillions Clock Shop

Maximillions Clock Shop, or Max's as it is known amongst the locals is the workshop of Maximillion Gearlock, a gnome clockwork engineer. His specialty is making clock of all types, including some pretty elaborate mechanical structures. He also sells parts for other engineers and machine-smiths.

Purpose / Function

This building serves as a shop for different types of clockwork creations, though it specializes in clocks. It also serve as Max's personal workshop.

Architecture

This large shop has a sign with a clock over the door, and two large windows in which sits a display of a variety of clocks. Some simple with just a set of hand and numbers, other more elaborate with door that open on the hour which brings forth singing clock work canaries, and clock works knights that travel on racks and fight each other at the chiming of noon.
Inside the shop is a clutter mess of clockwork. Clocks hang from every wall, every shape and size and type, and unfortunately they never seem to go off all at once. Every hour a slew of different bells, chimes, gongs and other noises fill the shop for at least 5 minutes as all of the creations seem to be off just a little bit.
In addition to clocks, there are numerous other clockwork devices, from tools, to small gadgets, to complicated clockwork animals and even a clockwork knight.

Defenses

There are several mechanical traps around the workshop that would deter any thieves. There is also a rumor that some of the larger clock work items can animate and protect the shop with deadly force.

History

Max bought the shop when he first came to Freeport many years ago as a young gnome, new to his profession. He made some minor alterations, including enlarging the back of the shop and creating an underground workshop. Over the years the shop has branched out making more than just clocks, but that remains it largest product.
