Researching The Knight and the Black Rose
Aaron Chesterfield has requested help researching the legend of the The Knight and the Black Rose. While no one knows what happened ot the Griffon Family, a baldric clasp was found that bore the family's crest on it.
The party investigated, finding the clasp was stolen off a corpse in the village of Blord. In blord they discovered that the Children of the Black Rose appear to be still around and they are looking for any trace of the Griffon Family, though it is unknown why. The cult was in Blord as they heard stories that during the pirate attack that killed almost all the villagers, there was a villager bearing a sword with the griffon family crest.
The group also found a note that used a special alchemical formula that is rare, and have asked Yul Havan to see if he can find out who knows how to make it.
It turned out Yul Haven must have raised suspicions with his line of questioning, as he was killed in his own shop, and drained of blood. When his shop was searched, it turned out he had hidden a letter from the guild stating that thar the alchemical reactant was the creating of Margol Rilga, an Alchemist with a shop in Seaport.
Before the party could discover more, sn investigator for the the city, Samuel Ashton with some animosity for the Society stepped in and asked them to leave the murder investigation to him.
The group did not tell him about the letter form the guild.
The party also found that the sword that was in Blord made it wat to Freeport, and was confirmed as bearing the crest of the Griffon family, proving the existence of the knight. The group sold it to Aaron Chesterfield. The sword had a maker mark belonging to Briden Pryor a famous swordsmith. The mark is still being used today in Twin Suns. Next Steps: Black Rose - trace the special alchemical ink used on the letter found in Blord to find out who could be using it.
Griffon Family - talk to the person who is using Pryor's maker's mark to find out what he knows of the griffon family if anything.
