Sea Folk (Neponese)

The Sea Folk are From the Nepon Islands, an group of islands south of Western Aranthar .  They are known as a seafaring race, living most of their lives on boats which travel the known world.

Family names usually reference the sea or boats in some way.  "Wave rider, Windsail, etc)

Major language groups and dialects

The Seafolk speak Neponese.  Some of the island farthest form the center of the chain have their own dialect, but are still easily understood by anyone speaking Neponese

Shared customary codes and values

The Seafolk live for traveling on the oceans.  While there are many who live on the island, it would be difficult to find one that has never been to sea.  They believe that death and birth should happen within sight of a body of water and will travel far to make sure that happens.  A babe born that cant see the sea, will never find their way to the water, and one who dies without a view to the sea will wander the afterlife in in a desert.

Common Dress code

The seafolk love gold and especially jewelry. They can often be found wearing plenty of it, especially if they are in the style of sea creatures, or shells. They also love to incorporate shells in the jewelry and hair.   When it comes to clothing the less the batter.  They wear as little as possible as they feel it restricts their movement in the water.

Beauty Ideals

The seafolk are usually very fit and lithe.  As natural sailors they spend a lot of time climbing and moving around a vessel where a lot of bulk gets in the way.  While large muscled seafolk are not uncommon, you fins many that are overweight.
