The Fang Blades

The most famous items and sacred artifacts of Mother Nora are her children's Fang Blades. The Blades forged for the felling of Greater Demons, and formed from the absorbing of the slain's essence thereafter. These blades carry with them the spirits of their slain foe, some think dormant within the spellcrafted steel, others believe the lingering spirits feed sickness into the bearers, those legendary wielders of the blades, the Fang Bladers.

Significance

These eight blades represent the closing of the age of darkness and the beginning of the age of the Zodiac Kings. In the Old world, the lands, Seas, and Skies were ruled by eight Greater Demons and their hordes and broods. They held power uncontested for generations, reaving and destroying, taking as they so chose. It wasn't until the mysterious Forge arrived in Nora and crafted the blades that would fell these creatures. Eight blades were forged and given to eight champions picked by lot, fate, destiny, or duty to slay the beasts and end the centuries long era of tyranny and fear. When the battles were done, the world became peaceful for the first time since the first dawn. The beast's carcasses were burned to ash, or their bodies became one with Mother Nora, and the blades took on the shape of the slain's fang, hence their name.

Rarity
There exists only eight of these legendary weapons within the world, hewn and taken from the Greater Demons of the Old world, there shall never be a weapon, or family of weapons of their like ever again. To create something similar would call for the emergence of new Greater demons, but their kind has all but been wiped out, their broods cast to the wind to fend for themselves and die out slow and painfully as recompense for their progenitor's tresspasses against the good and cowering people of Nora.

Raw materials & Components
It is unknown what materials or process Forge used to craft the blades. He was unattended and undisturbed during the forging of the Fang Blades. What was brought to him was a great deal of raw materials for forging, Iron, coal, Mercury, Sulfur, but the amounts used, the forging process itself is a mystery to all. It is said that any master smiths that offered their services to him were denied and turned away at the door of his smith. It is said that during the weeks in which he crafted the weapons, he sang and chanted in tongues unfamiliar to even the most studied of Arcanists. When all was said and done and the blades were presented to the tribes of Nora's people, the smith was taken apart and the materials used to build the structure were scattered to the winds. In this way, such blades could never be crafted again, even within the smith, the birthplace, of the original.
