Samir Beltrem was the patriach of the House of Beltrem. A old noble house of Gharlarad, that can trace if line back for millennia. In multiple times during the long history of Gharlarad, the House Beltrem multiple times almost managed to assume the Sultan of Gharalad - yet never succeeded in doing so.
The family owns vast swathes of farmland - and equally own a large amount of slaves to work the land. This also puts them in a position of great influence. Their support is being considered a key factor in maintaining the power in Gharlarad. They are renowned as staunch conservative, unequivocally pro slavery and inherently distrustful of any foreigner.
