Moria

The nation of Moria is known as the kingdom of the dwarves as they hold the throne in the city of Farthen Dur, situated in the valley within the Cradle Mountains. In truth the kingdom of Moria includes the entire mountain range as the dwarves have constructed a vast network of tunnels and cities within the mountains themselves. The dwarven king is chosen from among the various clans - each clan nominates one of their own, which are put through a series of trials to narrow down the selection to three. At this point the clans vote on which will become the new king. The current ruler is King Baldur Stoneplitter, who became the ruler shortly before Niflheim's attempted invasion. The Great Forge below Farthen Dur is where the dwarves have manufactured the warforged for millennia - a practice they claim to have been based down from the time of the Avalon Empire. Various other races dwell on and within the mountains such as goliaths, arakocra and giants to name a few.
