Military action

Motivations and trust called in to question, the Dwarven clans declare war.

During the attack on Farthen Dur, the dwarven king Baldur Stonesplitter lost his life defending the Great Forge. As is customary each clan selected a candidate of their own to be the next king, and on the first of the next month the candidates and clan representatives gathered in Farthen Dur for the Trials of Selection.   This event ended in tragedy as all but three of the candidates were assassinated in various ways. Suspicion quickly fell on the three clans whose candidates remained - though they swore they had no part in it. Arguments began and tensions rose over the next few days, until a fight broke out, during which multiple clan representatives were injured or killed. With this the clans declared war against each other for the first time in hundreds of years.
