The Black Wolf
The Octavus Kingsglaive, elite member of the Niflheim military that answered directly to the emperor. The party encountered him and a small group of imperial soldiers on the road between Angelbluff and Everfield. They were spotted from a distance by Ossu, and The Black Wolf identified by Otto based on the description.
When the group passed by Otto was recognized by one of the soldiers and the Kingsglaive as a wanted criminal - but the soldier was told to stand down as their mission "is not to apprehend the traitor or cause trouble with the locals". Mons attempted to ask what their reason for being here was, but was brushed off by the Kingsglaive.
As the party continued on Daxis and Ossu noticed a bird following above them, Ossu attempted to capture it but it managed to evade before flying towards the imperials. Ossu noticed that two soldiers had been following at a distance but retreated upon seeing him.
Otto informed the party that among the Kingsglaive The Black Wolf is known as one of the more honorable by the general population, but that other members of the Kingsglaive have expressed disdain towards him.
After his initial meeting with the party on the road with his men, The Black Wolf appeared at their campsite that night while Daxis was on watch. He then had a much more civil conversation with the party - revealing he knew they were the "Heroes of Rivercairn" and questioned them on any information they had on the group that attacked the various capitals. Before leaving he informed Otto his family had survived the attack on the capital, and shook Mons' offered hand.
The party later encountered The Black Wolf again - this time in the city of Basaltwood, one of the towns and cities of Asteros that has been pulled into the Feywild by the Fogwall. They found him in one of the makeshift infirmaries after he had collapsed from exhaustion and injuries, they had their goblin ally Droop heal him in order to help him rest.
The following day Mons sought him out to get information; during this conversation he introduced himself as Ruvain Darkwood and informed Mons that his men had died trying to defend the city. When Mons thanked him for defending the city he responded by telling Mons "I am not one to stand by and let people die".
When a small horde of undead attacked the city that same morning Ruvain fought alongside Mons and Daxis outside the city wall, preventing any of the undead from reaching it.
