Nostvary

At the heart of Nostvary stands Heaven's Spire, the highest peak in the Intraana Mountain Range, where the ancients keep watch over the many races struggling to survive. Unseen winds of Magic flow over the land, giving life to all who breathe it in. Some consume more than they should and become minor gods, while a rare few break the bonds of reality and escape onto The Silent Sea. It is here that the most powerful gods have their realms, and where the dead return after their short lives. Those too small to ascend roam the deep forests, hunted and revered in equal measure by those seeking their power.   The Human population predominates in Nostvary, with major cities like Dragsmund, Sentinel, Nesher, Sondara, Talidar, and Rekrar located along the coastline. The Black Mesa, the secret home of the high elves, is situated deep in the Jennerian Desert.   Dwarves and Goblins inhabit the central mountain chain, but not all are at war. The Sunkillers, a goblin confederation in the east, seek peace, while the northern tribes are warlike and regularly attack nearby dwarven and human settlements. The Barrow Dwarves of The Blue Mountains face the same constant struggle, but they lack the riches of their southern cousins and must rely on themselves and their human allies in Dragsbat.   The wooden city of Dragsmund is the largest in Nostvary, and also the loudest and dirtiest. Few go there voluntarily, and those who call it home do so with a grim smile.   The Marsh Elves, whose homeland was once between The Zento and Nesher, now live in secluded areas like The Thousand Lakes following their fall.

Geography

Nostvary is divided into three parts by the Intraana Mountain Range, with the southern third pivoting on The Jennarian Desert, a vast wilderness and domain of the High Elves.   To the northeast lie the marshes of The Thousand Lakes and the forests of Dragsmund. Beyond them are The Blue Mountains, known for trolls and deep fjords.   To the east is an extrusion of gnarled rock known as The Knuckle. Its craggy coastline serves as a haven for pirates who prey on ships sailing from Dragsbat to The Sondaran Empire in the south, which represents the most civilized part of Nostvary with advanced cities.   To the west of Nostvary, bordering The Land of Ghosts, are the jungles of Karalon, where the Jurati high elves live in ziggurats among the trees and breed water dragons in magical pools. However, these creatures pale in comparison to the fire-breathing dragons of The Vale of Alungar, once the dominant force in the region as The Dragon Eyrie before being defeated by The Sondaran Empire in The war of the sands.   The western kingdoms of Talidar and Rekrar, ruled by decadent aristocrats, are rife with petty wars, poets, and mercenaries.
