The Gauntlet
At the top of the stairs is a low-ceilinged room with a gradual slope towards the only opening. From here you can step out onto the hand and look down on the soldier's necropolis and see all the way to the horizon.
To the left of the King's Temple steps, high up in the wall is a platform jutting outwards like a hand reaching to the horizon. From the ground, it looks like a hand and was known as the gauntlet long before the imperial team gained entry. The explorers were keen to find a way up and located a small entrance behind the throne that led to a winding stair that went up through the rock. On the way are a series of rooms too small to serve any obvious purpose but each held an altar with light sconces behind them.
