Shaemora
Shaemora is one of the Three Sisters, the moon goddesses. Her moon is the second closest to Novredall, nearly black in color, and unmoving in the sky. During the day it appears greyish and washed out, but at night, its subtly shifting blues and purples shimmer against the dark sky. Shaemora is the goddess of Knowledge and Night, and presides over the Shadow Realm.

History
Shaemora was once as bright as a sun and night never fell upon Istros. Shaemora and her sisters created the Weave to share the power of the gods with mortals. However, for centuries, the mortals relied on the gods to grant them access to the magic. This changed when a drow woman named Vashana devoted her life to studying the Weave and developed and taught the Arcane magic to manipulate it. This did not sit well with some, who saw it as a corruption of divine magic and sought to kill Vashana. With much planning, and the aid of a god, she was mortally wounded. Shaemora had watched this mortal woman, who had devoted her life to the pursuit of knowledge, with great pride, and was angry and heartbroken to see the other mortals turn on her. As Vashana stared up at the bright sky, drawing her last breaths, Shaemora's light vanished, and the first night fell upon Istros. Vashana's body was enveloped in a light that ascended to the heavens, becoming a twinkling star next to the now dark moon. Shaemora had sacrificed her light to raise Vashana to godhood, thus creating night and allowing the Drow to more easily travel across the surface and share their knowledge of Arcana.Divine Domains
