Overview

Legends state that as Novus fell, a new God was born. Born on the last day, the twilight of civilization, Mazarathes, ushered in a metaphorical era of endless darkness. This young god, a progeny of such darkness is willful and young and will be the herald of the last night of Novus. His followers believe that he is watching, waiting, and learning so that he may one day dispense judgment on the last night. Devout, council-recognized followers believe that Mazarathes is impressionable and must be show moral piety and the innate goodness of mortals be their patronage to shift this outcome toward a positive end. Other cults believe that the last night will come regardless, and make peace with his whims and wishes to remain in his good graces. Mazarathes is free with his gift’s towards clerics and paladins, but his gifts often lead toward a quick death in more ways than one. The Council is debating on whether to outlaw worship of Mazarathes as he may actually be a herald of utter annihilation and death.
