Breath of Portent (a.k.a. The Fatemist)
Overview
No one is certain about the source of the miasma storms, but the faithful claim that Mesmer is its source. As a god of the clouds, Mesmer covers all and sees all and therefore can guide and direct all to their rightful, fated path. Miasma, in their view, is not a destructive force, but a guiding one, shepherding mortal beings to their fate. Those who hold to the Fatemist, are interested in divining intentions of their god, whose esoteric methods of communication come through signs written in the clouds or in portents carried on the wind. All mortals wish to deny their fates, which causes tension and unfulfillment. To the most extreme, Novus itself is seen as a monument against Mesmer simply by existing and resisting the miasma.
