HORUS

HORUS is a Union designation for a pattern of emergent mech frames, called pattern groups, so called because, while each shares some commonalities, no two are alike--and certainly not in the way that the Big Three understand mass production. This designation is also applied to the pilots of said frames, as well as any spokesperson, support personnel or graffiti artist remotely affiliated with them, making its "membership" quite large indeed. It is unclear if HORUS is actually an organization, as Union interprets it, or if it is some kind of memetic convergence of a galactic zeitgeist, or if there are elements of both in it.   Whatever the case may be, HORUS pattern groups emerge typically as code or firmware upgrade rigs injected into or mounted onto other frames, which then take on the characteristics of a pattern group. GOBLIN is the most well known of these manifestations, having been made from Kobold mining frames used in Lower Sanjak. In the Dawnline Shore, across The Long Rim, there is another pattern group, BALOR, composed of nanomachine-infused frames. It is unclear who or what pilots these frames. There are very likely many more besides, and it is unclear how these upgrades are doled out.
