The Committee

Not to be confused with any of Union's Central Committees, the Committee is Nuavaao's body of project leads. A full Committee meeting is rarely called, in contrast to the Spokescouncil, which meets every equinox and solstice, but rather relies on fixed subcommittees (in particular the Research Subcommittee) and flexible working groups (a longstanding example, which might be considered a de facto subcommittee, is the creeping midnight working group, which works with the Research Subcommittee, Watch Commander, and Agricultural and Hunting Subcommittee to maintain the firebreaks and study the colony's attackers). The chairperson of Committee meetings is known as a facilitator, whose office is not fixed but can rotate on a per-meeting basis. In practice, Sokhanua sy Symuä is regularly the facilitator, and is viewed as a leader by the Nuavaaii.
