Mortar Controls

A control plinth taken from a ruin and wired into the emplacement and engine of the mortar. The controls allow the user to select how much energy is fed into the mortar, as well as the angle at which it will fire.   The level of energy determines the arc of the projectile, as well as how much damage it does. At the lowest setting, the beam is about as big around as a human arm and doesn't have much of an arc -- it barely has enough distance to get over the wall opposite of the emplacement. At the highest level, the projectile has almost no noticable arc; it behaves more like a lance cannon rather than a projectile with an arc. The highest setting was only tested once, firing a beam into the night sky that narrowly missed the moon.
