Empire's Seed

Life, Relocation

After helping the ruling council of Qi make the north of Draolis safer for it's inhabitants and travelers, Ager is granted a title and some land.   On this land he built a town and grew it into the center of his trade business, which by this point many were calling more of a trade empire.

After helping to manage a campaign to rid an area north-west of Castle Aventur of some roaming packs of abhumans and several dangerous creatures, Ager is granted a title and a parcel of land by the ruling council of Qi.   He finds and repairs a manor on these lands, and begins to transfer his trade business to the manor. Slowly, bit by bit, his wealth and staff all make their way to this manor. Naming it Sunrise Manor, he refurbished ithas the manor outfitted to be closer to a trade station than the kind of manor most expect a noble to inhabit. A village is founded near the manor by Ager where the families of his staff are given small plots of land to build homes. They chose to name it Magglen.   The name is left to the staff, who choose the name Barholm.   Slowly over time the village grows as Ager begins to route more and more of his trade caravans through the village. He does this partially to ensure any particularly interesting or powerful numenera end up in his hands, but it has a side benefit. As more caravans travel through the village, more and more people make this village their home. Some are families of the merchants, guards, or staff of the caravans. Others are the makers, wrights, and other workers who build and maintain the various vehicles used by the caravans.   As the town grows, it becomes an important trade stop for anyone traveling from through Draolis on their way to the kingdoms to the north or south. There are even concerns in Qi that a little too much trade bypasses Qi to go to Barholm instead.
