Ager returns home for a short period of time. When he leaves, he leaves wearing his most powerful armor and bearing his most powerful weapons.   When asked, his only answer is "I go to explore a dangerous land to ensure it's dangers never trouble us."

After nearly two decades away, Ager returns home for a few months.   He tells a few tales of what he has found, but only to his most trusted staff.   "I have been beyond the Beyond, far to the North" he tells a gathering of his staff and friends during a festival banquet.   "Lands that may hold great adventure and riches for all of us. I am preparing to return there soon, and I go to ensure that our destiny is safe."   Most don't know what to make of his words, but trust that Ager will find a way to deliver on his promise.   A few weeks later, Ager is seen leaving his manor. Every time before when he has left on a journey or walkabout, Ager was clothed somewhat simply. He would usually wear one of his less flashy sets of armor, something easy to hide under a cloak. It always seemed that he wished to project the image of a wandering adventurer, seeking out glory and numenera in the Ninth World.   This time, however, he leaves as if marching to war. He is wearing his most powerful suit of armor, and bearing his most powerful weapons and artefacts. The only time he was similarly equipped was when he and his strike team hunted down the bandits. Many wondered if there was some great beast or horde of abhumans he went to face. Some worried that they would never see him again.   Many of his friends and senoir staff begged Ager to stay, or to at least bring some of his more experienced companions with him. He refused, saying that where he was going nobody else was prepared for. It wasn't a matter of weapons, armor, or numenera; apparently it was a mindset that none of them were willing to adopt yet.   Nobody knew quite what to make of that.
