Trouble In Paradise
Life, Milestone
Ager returns to his home in the Steadfast, eager to assemble the venture to go settle the new lands of Maka-Tho.
However, there's someone he has to convince, first.
The servants say the fight lasted for days. Although none could make out the words, everyone could tell it was a heated yet mostly one-sided argument.
Within their rooms, Tashi and Ager fought over his plans to uproot their entire lives and move into some hilly wilderness north of Calda. Somehow, eventually Ager convinced Tashi, although she remained in an unbalanced mood for a week. One servant claimed to hear Tashi say something about her father, and how "he'll find us in this new land of yours, Ager."
Only Tashi heard his reply, but apparently it was enough to bring a short laugh and a smile to Tashi's lips.
Preparations
Over the next six months, Ager and Tashi figured out how to uproot their entire lives and trade business in order to move it out into the wilderness.
In the end, they left much behind. Portions of their trade company were sold, or bequeathed to high ranking members of the organization who could handle some of the more dangerous trade routes. The village elected a council, and the manor was given to the town as a hall.
Eventually, everything was ready. Ager, Tashi, and 51 other people were ready to set out on the journey of their lifetime. Some were adventurers, most were staff, all had signed contracts guaranteeing them land. All of them felt a heady mix of excitement and fear, not knowing what lay in their future.
On The Road
For over a year, the group travelled. Through the Steadfast, and into and through the Beyond, right to the Clock of Kala.
To Ager's find, the Arch of Kala.
The group camped in the valley. They could have gone through imediately, but Ager and Tashi wanted to ensure everyone was prepared.
The next week they told their travelling company of what to expect. Of Calda, the Sable Hegemony, and much more. About some of the history and culture of the land they'd be travelling through on their way to Maka-Tho. Some were nervous at first, but the knowledge imparted by Ager and Tashi smoothed their nerves.
Into the Frontier
Once they were ready, Ager activated the arch and led them through.
Over the next few months, Ager and Tashi guided the group and kept them safe. Eventually, after nearly three years, the group was nearly done with their journey. They had reached the Grey Sea.
After stocking up on supplies at the Tree, the group continued on. When they passed by a group of travellers who were camped at the point where the mists usd to stop. Both groups looked at each other as they passed by -- one wondering what kept their feet still, the other curious whether bravery or insanisty drove them into Maka-Tho.
By this point, the small group that had left the Steadfast behind had grown. As they travelled through Calda, people had joined. Some were adventurers, looking to join Ager on his journey. Some were families looking to find better land to farm. One newlywed couple even joined simply to get away from their families, who had not wanted them wed in the first place.
With several months of travel ahead, Ager led the group into Maka-Tho.
