Blackport

In the annals of Drakoria, Blackport emerges as a city born from the union of shadow and maritime dominance, steeped in history and cloaked in enigmatic mysteries. Its origins date back to an era when the maritime clans sought dominion over the shadowed coastlines.   Legends speak of a group of intrepid mariners who navigated the treacherous waters and discovered a sheltered bay nestled amidst imposing cliffs. Sensing the latent arcane energies that resonated within the land, these seafarers established the foundations for what would eventually burgeon into Blackport. The city emerged from the mists as a maritime stronghold, drawing mariners, traders, and seekers of arcane knowledge to its shadow-draped docks.   The truth however is far more basic and far less dramatic. Originally a small farming community that had mastered the ability to farm and ranch within the harsh landscape that is Drakoria. The House of Klaut was born from this family after the accension of Reginald Klaut. Evolving from a small farming community to the bustling port city it is today happened over the last decade with the support of the Dreadlord.   Blackport's ascendancy was further propelled by its strategic position along the coastline. The city's harbor, shielded by natural formations and bolstered by shadow-woven wards crafted by adept mystics, became a sanctuary for vessels seeking refuge from the tempestuous seas of Drakoria. Adventurers, merchants, and scholars converged upon its shores, enticed by tales of its arcane ambience and the promise of wealth carried by the ocean's currents.   Over time, Blackport has evolved into a melting pot of maritime culture and enigmatic. The streets buzz with the vitality of traders, and scholars delving into the mysteries that the city's enigmatic aura held. Mariners spun yarns of mythic sea creatures, uncharted islands, while shadowy scholars studied the ley lines and arcane nodes intertwined with the coastline.   The governance of Blackport rests in the hands of The House of Klaut and Veren Klaut, the city's archmage, overseeing both the seafaring expeditions and the arcane studies that permeat within the city. Their collaboration has forged Blackport's identity as a junction where maritime expertise merged with the shadowy arts, fostering an environment where sailors and shadow-weavers exchanged knowledge and established alliances.   Amidst the bustle of trade and the pursuit of arcane secrets, Blackport retained an air of mystery. Its maritime history intertwined with legends of lost treasures and the shadowy energies that ebbed and flowed through the city's veins. Blackport stood as a testament to the convergence of maritime prowess and the enigmatic allure of shadow magic, inviting adventurers seeking fortune and scholars yearning to unravel the arcane mysteries concealed within its shadow-kissed streets.   Outside the walls of the city lie its true source of power and reputation, the fields. Miles upon miles of farmland and grazing land. The farmland is fairly standard with massive crews of slave workers with Orc overseers keeping them in line. It is the grazing lands that are truely peculiar, where one would typically find herds of cattle, goats, sheep, chicken, foul and horses, you find herds of Minotaur and Aarakocra. Both providing the abundance of meat, milk, cheese, and eggs for all of Drakoria, although often unspoken, the people of Drakoria know what they are eating, however, trade partners not so much.
