Surajj I

The invincible Suzerain of Ruatiwanga, architect of the Saganaoa Miracle and the legendary Treaty of Letubasa

You bloody well think that mess at Saganaoa was why we decided to make peace with those barbarians? Bollocks.   No - while losing as many ships as we did was quite the shock, it wasn't why we changed tact so quickly. You think we couldn't replace a few paltry ships?   The Hunter Clans alone were already making preparations for an invasion of the Ruatiwangan mainland - a decapitation strike, aimed to take down their Suzerain and end the war.   The real reason we changed our tune so quickly was their bloody Suzerain - King Surajj, they call him. "The Invincible Suzerain". We thought it was just superstition, at first. Just the ravings of backwards savages.   Then the first reports started flooding in from Saganaoa days later - when the 8th Fleet finally limped back and rejoined with the Battle Cluster near Praxes Secundus. Turns out, it wasn't superstition.   We had already been bloody well gobsmacked when we ran into the Shersūran lines near Aubana - that first contact skirmish was a damned wake-up call, alright. But we pushed through - managed to win without understanding bloody well why they were so strong at certain times.   That came back to bite us at Saganaoa. When their damned Suzerain took the field, he was invincible - we had pictures, even videos, of that savage taking sustained Volley Fire from a 6-Gun Thumper Battery off the coast without so much as a damn scratch. Bloody ridiculous, was what it was - we'd never have believed it if the commanders of the 8th fleet hadn't shown us evidence.   We had no bloody idea how or why he was so strong - we knew his kind had some kind of secret to how they worked, but all we'd worked out was that it had something to do with the sun. We'd shot ourselves in the foot at Aubana, and now we were reaping the consequences.   In the end, every prediction we ran that involved their Suzerain just didn't look good for us - too many unknowns, not enough information. And when rumors started flying that the Suzerainty was planning an invasion of the mainland, the higher ups freaked. Our greatest defense against The Throne - the Diesel Suns - would only make them stronger.   Not much of a bloody surprise then, that when their Suzerain offered a peace treaty a week after Saganaoa we accepted.
— A Conversation between an Ironite Soldier and an Ironite Noble

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

A man who is by zero exaggeration considered to be completely invincible, Surajj has no physical ailments or injuries to speak of - or if he is, he does not reveal them publically. He is in fantastic physical shape and is the very pinnacle specimen of his species.   Thanks in large part to the gifts of Sun Orchid Elixir he has received for the past two centuries from the Elven Petal Monarchs of Numiastra, he has remained healthy and in the prime of his life despite the passing of time - infused with the power of the Elixir that reverses the flow of time to remain hearty, hale, and in the prime of his life.

Body Features

A tall and imposing man, Surajj has a body that seems almost impossibly mighty - muscular, tall, and regal, his body(When it is not hidden beneath his armor) is, like those of many Shersūra, a tightly wound spring made entirely of muscle and ready for violence at a moment's notice. Unlike his face, his body is completely absent of scars, blemishes, or other imperfections - though it is covered in religious iconography and other tattoos that are common for those of his kind that consider themselves members of various traditionalist religious groups such as The Children of Sun and Moon.

Facial Features

Ringed by a resplendent mane of white fur, Surajj's face is marred by a single imperfection - a single scarred gash that runs from above his left eye down across his snouth and to below his lips. Said to have been given to him by his father, it is the only scar that the Invincible Suzerain is said to possess - otherwise his face is rather famously pierced only by jewelry, some earrings, and other adornments that rest among his mane and through his ears(Prompting many to wonder how a man with invincible skin got his ears pierced). Most prominently are the religious markings visible on his face and mane - markings left upon him by both his membership among the ranks of The Children of Sun and Moon and his passing of the Six Trials of The Six Summit Trail that he undertook shortly after his inaugeration as Suzerain.

Identifying Characteristics

Aside from his height(Which places him among the tallest Shersūra to have ever lived), Surajj's snow-white fur and his extremely prominent religious markings are his most identifying bodily features - most notably the markings of the sun and moon beneath his left and right eye respectively, given to him after his passing of the The Six Summit Trail and its Six Trials after his inaugeration as Suzerain. Besides his bodily features, he is perhaps most notable for his golden suit of plate armor - one of the most advanced pieces of armor ever crafted by the Suzerainty in centuries. This suit of armor hides his entire body save for his claws and face, and he is never seen without it.

Physical quirks

Aside from his unnatural height, Surajj has no known physical quirks.

Special abilities

Perhaps most famously, Surajj the First is a man renowned for his utter invincibility - a gift he is said to have inherited after walking The Six Summit Trail and undergoing its six trials atop the mountains of Haako-san-tara, where he is said to have become the only Suzerain in a thousand years to pass all six mountaintop trials overseen by the Haaktura High Priests of the Sky Gods and attained power unimaginable by the likes of mortals. Though many, including The Iron Empire, once believed this to be little more than myth and superstition spoken by a weak regent who sought to stabilize his position, this has been proven to be a literal title in the truest sort - his body all but unbreakable and his skin all but unpierceable(An ability that was on full-display at The Defeat at Saganaoa where he withstood an Ironite Six-Gun Thumper Barrage from offshore Naval Batteries for nearly two full minutes and emerged unscathed), Surajj is a veritable hero of myth that would often seem more at home within the pages of the tales of the Watchers of Van'tiri than real life.   Undoubtedly, his transformation atop the mountains of Haako-san-tara have imbued him with a host of unique powers - but he has yet to reveal them beyond his famous invincibility.

Apparel & Accessories

Surajj is never seen in public outside of his suit of Golden Platemail Armor, though he does bedeck his armor with various sashes, cloths, capes, dyed fabrics, and other adornments according to his tastes from day to day - though beyond this his apparel never changes.

Specialized Equipment

As a man who famously eschews most all forms of excess or even weaponry, Surajj is thus notable for his singular most specialized piece of equipment - the suit of golden armor he wears at all times, fashioned by the finest smiths of the Suzerainty for his personal use alone. This massive suit of armor, designed for practicality as much as it was to be a statement of his regality and supremacy, is worn by him at all times - built to function as much like a second skin or clothing item as much as it is armor, it is one of the most advanced suits of iron-age armor in the known world; the utter pinnacle of craftsmanship of a largely bygone era. Designed to be slept in, ate in, and to be worn for every hour of every day, this suit of armor may often be decried as redunant for a man who prides himself on his invincibility, but is just as much a symbol of his office as it is a means of protecting his person.

Mental characteristics

Personal history

The personal history of the man who would in time come to be known as Surajj the Invincible, The Kingbreaker, and Father Revolution is one that begins during his formative years, in the city of Randawonga during the very final years of Jawahar IV - fourth ruler of the Jawahar Dynasty who is remembered even now as "Jawahar the Enlightened" for his policies of social reform, public works and education programs, and his legendary "Campaign of Tomes" which saw amphitheaters constructed in nearly every city in Ruatiwanga to be used exclusively for Lectures, Classes, Education, Plays and other Theater Works, and any similar project designed to provide the public with knowledge and information. Growing up in the tail end of this illustrious time for the Suzerainty, the man who would in time become Surajj the First is recorded as ever standing at odds with his fellows - always obsessed with theology, history, economics, and the works of foreign philosophers and poets(Particularly those from The Iron Empire) moreso than he was hunting, feasting, or fighting(A trait which often saw him bullied and mocked by his fellow Shersūra), he was a boy who was practically raised in the Randawongan Hall of Tomes(The Amphitheater built on orders of Jawahar IV) eagerly listening to every lecture, reading every tome and tablet available to the public within its deeper levels, and eschewing his physical responsibilities at every turn if it meant enhancing his mind.   Such was much of his early life - focusing so much on his studies and ravenous desire for knowledge that on the eve of his 13 Birthday his father is said to have forcibly relinquished him into the care of a roving band of Shersūran Ministers who many now believed to have been secret members of the then-outlawed organization The Children of Sun and Moon. Giving his son over to these warrior-ministers in the hopes of teaching him the violent and predatorial ways of his people that his father believed were far more instrumental than "mere tomes", the man who would one day become Surajj the First spent the next seven years of his life in the care of those same Warrior-Ministers - where he was viciously plunged into battle after battle by his new masters in the hopes of fostering his "true inner Shersūra" and awaken the savagery he was, as a thin and scrawny youth, often derided as entirely lacking(As Shersūra culture often holds intellectuals and those without savagery as more "feminine" than "masculine"). Records from this time are, as with many matters likely concerning the extremist religious group known as The Children of Sun and Moon, utterly secret and unknown - though it was during this time that he is believed to have made the connections that would later prove instrumental in toppling the Jawahar Dynasty more than a decade later.   Returning to his home after being released from the care of the Warrior-Ministers utterly changed(Said to have grown two entire feet and nearly doubled his body mass in muscle growth), he took to his newfound freedom by returning to the Scholarly studies he had been forbidden from for so long - yet now, in his 20th year of life, things were not as they had been when he was young; the death of Jawahar IV and the crowning of his son Jawahar V(Known now as Jawahar the Squanderer) had brought a new regent into power of the Suzerainty - one that was, unlike his father, staunchly opposed to the public institutions of education his father had spent his entire life building. So it was that the boy who would in time become Surajj the First returned to the Randawongan Hall of Tomes to find it decrepit and abandoned - with most of its tomes smashed, vandalized, stolen, or outright defaced and destroyed. To an intellectual such as he, this is believed to have affected him quite deeply - and in relatively short order, as if driven to extremist beliefs after witnessing what he would later describe as "The Execution of an entire way of life", he organized the dissatisfied youth of his home city of Randawonga into a collective of reformists who took the moniker The Society of Light.   With this group behind him, he would spent much of his 20s at the helm of this group attempting to bring about educational reform to not only his home city of Randawonga, but to the Suzerainty as a whole - and though the group was originally conceived to be little more than a cultural collective who focused on publishing all manner of reformist poetry, novels, posters, pamphlets, and such to bring about a peaceful ideological revolution, the Society slowly radicalized over the following decade, slowly exchanging pen and paper for blade and terrorism as it spread from Randawonga to many cities across the southern Suzerainty. For his part, he proved himself during this time as not only a fantastic leader, but as a brilliant public speaker, philosopher, novelist, poet, and author - all traits that his own race often decried as weakness, especially as he seemed to almost go out of his way to avoid involving himself in violence(And especially with the radical societies of his day such as The Children of Sun and Moon). Yet, as the reign of Jawahar V dragged on and the young King fell deeper into exotic drugs and deeper pits of depravity, becoming increasingly unpopular with his citizens as he squandered the entire national treasury on exotic drugs and vices(Many of which the mad king believed helped him "commune with the gods"), the man who would be known as Surajj the First slowly emerged as the face of an increasingly militant reformist movement who often made trips to the capital city of Ruatiwanga to desperately try and drum up support for a peaceful transfer of power to help salvage the country's collapsing government - yet found no allies save for the very same radical traditionalist groups he wanted to avoid the most.   Yet, as the years wore on and he approached his thirties, the possibility of such a peaceful reform seemed further and further away - and with the Suzerain increasingly addicted and increasingly insane with each passing year, he turned at last to the group he likely had wished to avoid the most; the extremist group known as The Children of Sun and Moon, whose radical beliefs also aligned them against the current government that had branded their traditional beliefs and heretical religious rites and practices as illegal. Drawing on old contacts, he managed to ally his Society of Light with the Children of Sun and Moon and saw that, only now, after allying with the ones he had despised the most, did he see true results - as he instigated a series of events that would come to be known to the Tiwangan people as The Dawn Revolt, where he led an armed militia up the gates of the Suzerain's Palace after a series of short skirmishes with the city's military(That was won suspiciously fast) and, with the aid of the Suzerain's own royal guard, hauled the mad king out into the streets and crucified him in front of his own populace - ending the Jawahar Dynasty as he took the throne of Suzerain(Thanks largely to the backing of the highly militant Traditionalists such as The Children of Sun and Moon) as Surajj the First. Promising an end to the sinful indulgences of his predecessor's time, Surajj the First made good on his promise(Although reluctantly) to end the outlawing of the "Extremist Groups" such as the Children of Sun and Moon and inaugurated his rule by reviving a centuries-dead tradition of Tiwangan Kings known as The Six Summit Trail, wherein the newly crowned Suzerain would walk, alone, to the Six Summits of Haako-san-tara, enduring a unique trial at each summit overseen by the most ancient of Haakturan Priests to emerge as a ruler approved by the gods themselves(A practice that had not been done in centuries, since the times of Divinely Appointed Kings).   Ever since this inauguration, he has been known as the Invincible Suzerain - and shortly after was forced to put his reputation to the test during his country's war against The Iron Empire and lead them into a legendary peace forged by the signing of the Treaty of Letubasa as a Suzerain barely 3 years in office. Ever since, he has ruled over Ruatiwanga as its absolute monarch and sat unchallenged for centuries - thanks in large part due to his growing status as an Icon of Defiance against The Iron Empire that has earned him gifts that have let him defy the passing of time. Now, he stands as perhaps the most legendary figure of Numiastra and its surrounding area and a living linchpin of Ironite Resistance - a figure so utterly beloved the world over by all who despise The Iron Empire that he is kept alive almost against his will to ensure that the peace he forged with Tavross, The Iron Emperor continues to stand and his empire remains strong and stable beneath his rule.

Sexuality

As the first of the Surajj Dynasty and he who followed the hedonistic Jawahar the Fifth, last of the Jawaharian Kings who was nearly world-famous for his love of exotic drugs and other vices, Surajj has gone to great lengths to portray himself as a divinely-appointed King who exists above mortal needs and desires - and has never displayed sexual tendencies or desires in any public manner. While he has had many children(And thus is believed to be heterosexual, if only by necessity to produce offspring), the identities of his wife(Or wives) are utterly unknown and protected as a state secret for both the safety of his mates and to protect his image as a faultless divinely appointed ruler of Ruatiwanga.

Education

Rather famously, having grown up during the waning years of Jawahar the Fourth, Fourth King of the Jawahar Dynasty who championed countless public works and education programs across the Suzerainty, Surajj is a far smarter and more cunning Shersūra than most all of his kind - having studied nearly every available tome and work of his own people and a great deal of foreign philosophers, mathmaticians, economists, and more, Surajj is an extremely well-learned man who has had centuries to study nearly every scrap of information the world over.

Employment

As he was given up by his father to a roving band of Shersūran Warrior-Ministers on the eve of his 13th birthday and did not return until he was 20, Surajj never held a true job in his country's workforce - living out most of his 30s as a a cultural reformist in charge of a cultural collective known as the Society of Light which has now gone defunct after his ascension to Suzerain.

Accomplishments & Achievements

His first and greatest achievement has by far been his ascension to the throne of Suzerain itself - which he orchstrated during the now famous events of The Dawn Revolt which saw him and his reformist militias battle their way into the Suzerain's Palace and drag Jawahar the Fifth out into the streets of his capital, where he was crucified in front of his people for his horrendous insanities and reckless expenditure of the country's resources.   Perhaps even more famously, only a few short years into his role as Suzerain, he led the country through its First-Contact with The Iron Empire and not only proved instrument during The Defeat at Saganaoa where he took the field personally to drive out the Ironite Armies, but also during the subsequent diplomatic meeting held between him and Tavross, The Iron Emperor - where he reportedly managed to convince the Diesel-God to sign the now legendary Treaty of Letubasa which brought about a lasting peace between the two nations that has endured for centuries into the modern day.

Failures & Embarrassments

Though Surajj himself likely has a laundry list of things he would consider his own failings, his subjects so far see him as faultless and invincible - utterly enamored and enraptured with him and his deeds such that the current national "patriotism" meets or exceeds that of The Iron Empire.

Mental Trauma

Though he is careful to present himself in such a way that gives no hint as to his failings or flaws, Surajj likely has plenty of mental trauma from his youth - which saw him essentially sold into slavery to a band of Warrior-Ministers who sought to ruthlessly beat and savage him into a true, ferocious Shersūra and expunge his intellectual tendencies from him.

Intellectual Characteristics

Above all else, Surajj is a scholar first and a warrior second - and has become renowned across the Suzerainty for his cunning, wisdom, and keen insight. Well-regarded as "The Man with a Thousand Plans", it is to Surajj's credit that despite being seemingly invincible by all conventional means, he remains more famous amongst his own people for his legendary wit and intellect - a thinking man to the core who studies his enemies and their history long before he ever comes into contact with them, preferring to win his battles with paper and pen rather than claw and fang and blood.   As such, he is a careful schemer and utterly masterful tactician who is somehow at his most dangerous when in a diplomatic meeting - with words so charming and insight so keen that he is said to have even been able to talk Tavross, The Iron Emperor into a treaty he had no desire to agree to within a mere 24 hours.

Morality & Philosophy

All in all, Surajj's morality is something of a mystery - as he presents himself differently even amongst his own people, depending on whose favor he seeks to win over. At times presenting himself as a hardline, staunch traditionalist who places great value in honor and tradition over even his very life, while at others presenting himself as a drastic reformist who values the lives of even those such as the Bhadu highly, favoring humane and reformist policies above all else.   As such, the truth remains hard to grasp as of the current day.

Personality Characteristics

Motivation

Above all else, he is driven to lead the Suzerainty of Ruatiwanga into another Golden Age - yet, to do so, he must deliver his people from the schisms that wrack their lands and even most important of all must deliver them from the greatest threat to ever grace their shores: The Iron Empire. To do any of them is undoubtedly an impossible task - yet he is no mortal man, and knows keener than anyone else the power of a people who have been taught to hope.   It is little wonder then, that his impossible dream of a Tiwangan Golden Age has begun to seem less and less impossible with each passing year.

Savvies & Ineptitudes

An incredibly savvy politician, statesman, diplomat, author, poet, public speaker, intellectual, negotiator, philosopher, warrior, talented at seeing through lies and deception, making long term strategies, outmaneuvering his opponents, ???   Despite everything, he is a fairly poor hunter - an oddity amongst his species. Whatever his other ineptitudes are, he hides them carefully - presenting himself always as a competent and cunning leader.

Likes & Dislikes

Likes: Solving his problems through diplomacy and discussion, Philosophy, Learning new things, Teaching others new things, painting, writing books, writing poetry, singing, acting in theater performances and stage plays, debating others, people who will tell him his errors, engaging with worthy adversaries, being challenged both physically and mentally, being in front of crowds, ???   Dislikes: As Surajj is a man who quite publically goes back and forth on the ideals and beliefs he supports, his dislikes are even harder to pin down than his likes - at times seeming to dislike working with radical groups such as The Children of Sun and Moon yet welcoming their influence if it means solidifying his power base. As such, his dislikes are so hard to determine as to be essentially unknown - as with many facets of his personality.

Virtues & Personality perks

In the modern day, Surajj's virtues are so numerous as extolled by his own citizens that if counted could likely outnumber the stars in the sky - though, if distilled, would likely best be described by his outspoken activism. A man of scholarly origins, Surajj is perhaps the best man for the current struggles his people are experiencing - an utterly brilliant politician who is bold enough, brave enough, and cunning enough to hold Ruatiwanga together in the face of overwhelming foes even when his own people struggle and bite against the unity he brings. A smart and learned man, he knows the value of diplomacy and solving his issues through violence yet is not afraid to deliver violence unto his enemies when it is required - though much like a hammer instead of a scalpel, as his violent crackdowns on various groups since his rise to power have been better likened to crucifixion-happy witch hunts that err on the side of massive collateral damage rather than surgical strikes on his enemies.   Despite this, Surajj is a man of boundless valor and incredibly vision - utterly dauntless and impossible to dissaude from a path once he decided to walk it, he is utterly tempestous and pursues his goals with no regard to his own morality or code; only the betterance of his nation and the unity of his people guide his hand.   All in all, he is the archetypal Tiwangan Suzerain - driven beyond measure, cunning and violent in equal measure, and so utterly sure of his path that he frequently walks the line between madness and genius.

Vices & Personality flaws

Despite his virtues, Surajj's singular greatest flaw as of the modern day is undoubtedly his twofaced nature - having risen to power and become Suzerain of Ruatiwanga, he become a somewhat controversial figure in his early days of office by constantly currying the favor of every around him even when doing so would put him at odds with his own words and promises made earlier. At times promising to both help and hinder the goals of his allies, he was derided in the early days of his office as a wishy-washy politician whose only interest was furthering his political interests with no ideals of his own - and were it not for the First-Contact War that he led his people through against The Iron Empire, he likely would have been overthrown or deposed.   Overall, is an incredibly guarded man who is careful to reveal nothing of his true nature that he may continue to play his enemies and allies alike to his benefit as long as possible - taking whichever paths are best suited to his goals with no regard for any central morality or law.

Hygiene

Even in matters of Hygiene, Surajj is a man who styles himself differently depending on the company he seeks to keep - at times appearing bloody and savage while other times appearing regal, clean, and stately.

Social

Reign

Having come to power a staggering 233 years ago, Surajj spent the first years of his rule rapidly attempting to rebuild the depleted treasury expended by his predecessor, Jawahar V(Better known as Jawahar the Squanderer) while simultaneously attempting to rebuild the military, kickstart the country's collapsing economy, restore his people's faith in the government that had spent the last 20 years gorging itself on exotic cocaine and other drugs and vices, and more while ALSO preparing his country for the fast-approaching First Contact War with The Iron Empire - a war that Surajj knew was rapidly encroaching years before the first shots were ever fired.   As a result, though he entered the First Contact War on the 3rd year of his rule a controversial ruler, he emerged from it an utterly unchallenged Suzerain who was so beloved by his own people that he has ruled over his people for the subsequent two centuries as an unchallenged monarch so utterly secure in his own position that none have dared challenged him despite his abnormal age.

Contacts & Relations

Having ruled the Suzerainty of Ruatiwanga for nigh on two centuries, Surajj is by little exaggeration one of the most beloved rulers of not only his own Kingdom, but of the world over - a veritable living symbol of defiance against The Iron Empire the likes of which even the Dwarven Thanes of the Mountain Citadels and the Elven Petal Monarchs have ventured across half a world to see in person. As such, there are few creatures in the realms of Ruatiwanga, Numiastra, and beyond that he does not know and fewer still that do not bend to his authority - either as regent or as the living symbol he has turned into.   Nowhere does a better example of how utterly beloved and how overwhelmingly respected he is exist than his status amongst his own citizens - despite the hatreds the various races of Ruatiwanga have for his species the Shersūra, he alone and his name alone command such genuine and overflowing love that the Bhadu, the Chotara, the Haaktura, and every single race on Ruatiwanga together are united in their admiration of him and his policies - a fact which is one of the crucial reasons he has remained in office for so long, and yet only scratches the surface of just how crucial he has become to holding the disparate tribes of Ruatiwanga together under his singular banner.   Most famously, he is so utterly beloved by the people of the world that the Elven Petal Monarchs of Numiastra have, routinely and without fail for the past two centuries, delivered him a legendary Sun Orchid Elixir, one of the greatest secrets of their people, every few decades to keep him in the prime of his life and combat the onset of old age; a practice supported publically by both the Dwarven Thanes of the Mountain Citadels and other enemies of The Iron Empire who fear his death as a herald for a return to Ironite Imperialism in the area.

Family Ties

As a result of his abnormally long life, Surajj has lived long enough to see his own sons grow old and perish while he remains Suzerain - and has also lived long enough to execute a good number of them for scheming to take his throne from him and become Suzerain themselves.   Despite this, he maintains a large number of children - well over a hundred - most of whom are so distant in the line of inheritance that they may as well be commoners. The identities of his wife or wives are kept utterly secret, and are thus the subject of infinite speculation.   His parents, as one may expect, died of natural causes long ago - as have the rest of his family, though he is rumored to possess distantly related family that yet resides in the vicinity of his home city of Randawonga.

Religious Views

Surajj's religious views are a difficult thing to determine - despite the fact he portrays himself as a divinely appointed regent, Surajj maintains ties to extremist groups such as The Children of Sun and Moon, and is largely believed to be a member of their ancient faith that worships the six Ruatiwangan Sky Gods of Haako-san-tara as their chief deities - and carries out a number of rites and rituals so violent and bloody that they are widely considered heretics in the modern day who are given clemency only due to the favor of the Suzerain.

Social Aptitude

A scholar through and through, Surajj is a man of bottomless charisma and raw charming magnetism - and no feat better exemplifies just how utterly inhuman his charisma truly is than the story of the signing of the legendary Treaty of Letubasa which brought peace between The Iron Empire and the Suzerainty of Ruatiwanga - where he supposedly, over the course of a 24 hour meeting with Tavross, The Iron Emperor himself, convinced the Iron Emperor to sign the treaty despite the former's complete refusal to do so at the outset of the meeting.   Utterly at home in the courtroom and in the field of politics, Surajj is an utterly brilliant man whose charisma can be said to be divine - able to reach into the hearts of others and drag out a desire to support his ideals from even the most closed and twisted of hearts.

Wealth & Financial state

Having ruled for nearly two hundred years since The Defeat at Saganaoa, Surajj has rebuilt the coffers of the Suzerainty to such a vast degree that it is in the modern day seen as one of the wealthiest empires in the entire known world - and while as the Kingdom's Absolute Monarch he is entitled to every single piece of wealth in the kingdom's treasury, he is overall frugal with its usage in regards to himself.

"My compliments on forcing my hand as you have, savage. Never have my hunter clans been so expertly played against me to my enemy's advantage."   "Rrraahaha. Harsh words, Your Eminence - you give me too much credit."   "Humility does not suit you, beast. You accomplished what the combined might of the Dwarves and Elves could not, and forced me to the negotiating table - that alone means I give you precisely the credit you have earned. Had your people been blessed with any less competent a leader, your empire would be smoking rubble by now."   "Is that so? Well...a trick is still a trick, I'm afraid. I'm quite sure it wouldn't work a second time. There isn't much honor in that."   "Perhaps not. But does honor really matter when the alternative is the extinction of your people, beast? I think you understand that better than you let on."   "Rrrrr...a curious thing for the so-called leader of humanity to say. I thought your people prized that human spirit you cling to?"   "My people frequently mistake morality for humanity. I am not so limited."   "Rrrahaha. You speak well. Like a Shersūra. I could not ask for a more worthy adversary."   "Is that supposed to be a compliment, savage? Spare me. And you should know, I have no intention of giving you any concessions in this meeting. If, by the end of this meeting, we cannot agree, I will have all the excuse I need to continue this war and exterminate your people."   "All this, I knew already. My people think our war over...but in truth, all my plans have led me here, to this moment. My true battle against your Empire of Iron shall be waged here, with word and ink! And as always, the Invincible Suzerain shall never know defeat!"
— Conversation between Surajj I and Tavross, at the beginning of the meeting that would end with the signing of the legendary Treaty of Letubasa
