Nymara
The Echoing Depths

Nymara is a mysterious, water-covered planet where the ocean dominates the landscape, stretching endlessly in all directions. This seemingly tranquil ocean world holds vast secrets beneath its surface, where sprawling underwater caverns, glowing abyssal trenches, and ancient cities slumber in the depths.
The skies above Nymara are an ethereal blend of deep blues and shimmering purples, sometimes veiled in thick mist. The planet’s atmosphere glows faintly, casting a surreal light across the water. On clear nights, the sky reflects on the ocean like a mirror, giving the illusion of floating between two realms.
The surface of Nymara is calm and serene, stirred occasionally by waves and pulls from its two moons. Its waters are crystal clear but can seem as black as ink, hinting at the profound depths below. Strange bioluminescent creatures occasionally breach the surface, lighting up the waters with eerie, otherworldly glow.
Beneath the still surface, the ocean plunges into dark, twisting canyons and trenches that stretch miles into the planet. These abysses are filled with glowing coral reefs, enchanted ruins, and creatures that have adapted to both lightless environments and intense pressures. At the deepest points, the sea floor cracks open, revealing mysterious geothermal vents that spew out strange, glowing vapors. There is a strong connection to the Feywild on Nymara, especially in the glowing coral forests that grow beneath the waves. These coral forests are enchanted and ever-shifting, creating labyrinthine pathways that confuse and entrap those who venture too far without knowing the tides. Creatures and spirits often dwell in these regions, protecting the planet’s deepest mysteries.
Scattered throughout Nymara’s oceans are ancient underwater cities. Those on the surface haven't developed the technology to explore its depths as of yet and much is unknown.
The Living Nexus is the most well-known of the few islands, a sprawling continent surrounded by misty waters and dotted with vibrant cities. Here, life flourishes, with verdant jungles, rolling hills, and fertile valleys extending as far as the eye can see. The continent’s cities are hubs of trade, and culture, each one boasting a unique blend of architecture that speaks to the rich history of the people who survived the floods. There are towering spires built from stone marketplaces filled with wares from the seas. However, the people who live here have forgotten much of their planet's history, unaware of the divine power that keeps their world afloat.
Nymara’s two moons, Varellia and Ishara, watch over the planet like silent sentinels. Varellia, the larger of the two, glows with a soft, bluish light, its surface veined with mysterious silver markings. Ishara, smaller and darker, is pockmarked and cratered, its glow faint but steady. These moons play a crucial role in the tidal patterns of the planet, and many cultures on the Nexus and beneath the seas consider them sacred. The movements of the moons are believed to be tied to the rhythms of the goddess herself, their phases influencing the magic that still flows through Nymara’s waters.
