Brigantes

Brigantes is the cutural center of the celtic peoples that inhabit the Dry Plains. Occupied primarily by the different tribes of the Antelope Clan, it is made up of temporary, and semi-permanent lodgings centered on a large ceremonial stone circle and wooden temple. The different clans stake out different areas around the ceremonial site as they come and go, and these areas often change hands, although the areas closest to the ceremonial site are often occupied by traders of various sorts, selling hides, food stuffs, baubles and sacrificial items. From the temple, a torch-lit path leads to a circle of five monolithic stones, each as large as a house, protruding from the earth and covered in druidic carvings. The ground between the stones is covered in white lye, creating a 5-pointed star with a stone at each point, and at the center is a fire in a smaller circle of rocks. Heading west from the fire, another torch-lit path leads directly to the Eternal Flame. The flame emerges from a crack in the exposed bedrock the juts forth from the surrounding soil. It is here that the druids of the Antelope Clan charge their torcs. The flame is beleived to contain the power of the celtic gods and is a remnant of their presence in the lands. Beyond the Eternal Flame is Sunchaser Point, an rocky overlook that extends out of the Druids Rise. It is here that on the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year, human sacrifices, often captives or slaves, are hurled from the precipice toward the setting sun in a bid to hurry the return of the Spring.
