Celtic Pantheon

Latecomers to the world of Nyverden, the Celtic gods hurriedly planted their followers in some of the last remaining open lands, establishing tribal lands in the vast forests, grasslands, and rolling hills of southwestern Akomst. Shortly thereafter, the Celtic gods were called away to defend their holdings in another world, and were forced to abandon their newly planted population of followers. Knowing that their people would have a hard time competing with the other peoples without them, the Celtic gods left a portion of their power resident within the lands that the Celtic people occupied. The Celtic priests, or druids, have learned to harness this residual power within the land for the purposes of furthering their people. Unlike the other pantheons, the Celtic gods do not involve themselves in the happenings on Nyverden nor do they work directly on behalf of their followers, only through the remnant of celestial power that they left behind can their followers tap into help from their gods. The Celtic peoples have yet to organize themselves in anything other than loose tribal organizations, and spend a great deal of their time fighting amongst themselves for land and resources. One large tribe of Celts, the Bearreds, did migrate north away from the Celtic homeland. Crossing the Sydgraense River and finding the deep woods of Vestlegion occupied by elves they continued north and found a home in the great Dividing Range, where they are known by the Mariners as Celts, but the Greeks call them Gauls.
