Deadwood

Deadwood is the name of a large valley in the High Wastes that opens to the west facing the Belting River. It was once a mature hardwood forest, but the poisoning of the land has petrified the trees. The valley smells of sulfur and colums of steam and smoke drift up from the valley floor, shrouding the dead trees in a gray haze that is ever-present within the valley. Few from the civilized races ventures into the Deadwood as it is known to be a place of evil and monsters. However, there are small bands that brave the valley to harvest the pertified wood from the dead trees.  This unigue stone is ued to make everything from cups and plates, to table tops for the very rich.
