Himmelkreeg

The Himmelkreeg are an elite group of elven knights in the kingdom of Darthorian. Their name in the common tongue translates to sky warriors. They get their name from the magical armor that each wears; silvery, mirrored magical plate mail that is light as a feather and had metal feathered wings that sprout from the back of the armor. This armor is extremely costly to make and is embued with magic that is a closely guarded secret of the reclusive kingdom. Each suit of armor is crafted for an idividual elf that is accepted into the ranks of the Himmelkreeg. The Himmelkreeg is organized into flights of 7 warriors, and 7 flights comprise a wing. There are seven combat wings, each of 50 winged Darthorian warriors, and the Eagle's Head, which is the commanders staff and personal guard. When an elf is accepted in to the ranks of the Himmelkreeg, he serves within that order until his death, or until he reaches the age of 700. Besides their flying magical armor, Himmelkreeg are usually equipped with a short lance, whether on the ground or in the air, and this serves as a mark of their order when not in their armor. Each Wing of Himmelkreeg has its own cigil that is emblazed on their breat plate, and denotes different specialities within the order.
