Hoyskole

The Hoyskole is the mage's guild of the kingdom of Miriador, and headquartered within its prestigious great hall in the city of Vilion. Its members are some of the most powerful wizards in the Northern Kingdoms and serve as advisors to the king of Miriador, augments to the kingdom's military, structural engineers, city planners, and municipal servants. The Hoyskole is presided over by the Rune Master, the head wizard. The current Rune Master is selected by the previous one and usually serves until he is too old, or no longer interested in the role. The Rune Master oversees the various groups or volsungs that comprise the Hoyskole: -The Volsung of the Eyes who focus on divination and prophecy. -The Volsung of the Hands who focus conjuration and abjuration magic in order to assist in the construction, reinforcement, and growth of civic projects and agriculture. -The Volsung of the Winds who focus on invocation magic and assist in the defense of the kingdom. Each Volsung is led by a preeminent wizard within that school and is referred to as the First Eye, the First Hand, or the First Wind.
