Jomsvikings

The Jomsvikings are the legendary raiders who call Heroes Reach home. They were founded by the mythical Magnos the Tusked, who claimed to be the living son of the Allfather, Odin, and built and ruled Heroes Reach at the end of the Age of Kings. The Jomsvikings all swear loyalty to their King, who is believed to rule with the approval of Odin, and is one of the Sea Kings of the North. The Jomsvikings have historically raided for themselves out of their home in the far northern stronghold of Heroes Reach, but have also hired themselves out for mercenary work under the leadership of the King of the Reach to the highest bidder. Elements of the Jomsvikings have served as personal guards for the King in Kylos, and for multiple officials in the southern Hellenic city-states.  The prestige of the Jomsvikings has slipped a bit of late under the leadership of their current king, Fengris the Keg.   To become a member of the Jomsvikings, one must demonstrate an abiity at sea, an ability in battle, and must prove themselves worthy of the raiding alongside the most brutal of North Sea pirates.  They must also swear loyalty to the King of the Reach and pledge to pool and then divy up all plunderings to share with the king, and with their fellow raiders.
