Land of Surtur

This refers to all land on Apenrike east of the Dragon's Breath. It is known to be inhabited by Giants, amongst other things, but no one knows to what extent. Only the peninsula on the east side of Stonethrower Passage has ever been explored by the civilized races, and even that, in long gone ages. "The Land of Surtur" is a common expression in Elvish and dwarfish societies, often used to describe the far-flung reaches of the world. For example, if a dwarf was exasperated at the amount of travel necessary to reach a particular point, he may say "where is this place, the land of Surtur? " or an elf may describe an extremely remote village as being in the land of Surtur.
