Thorswrath
Located at the utmost northern point of the continent of Ankomst, Thorswrath is one of the most isolated human settlements on the planet. Inland, to the south, lie the wastes of Falbak, an icy and unforgiving plain completely devoid of vegetation, windswept, and almost entirely inhospitable. Few have successfully navigated the broken landscape of Falbak, and even then only during the height of summer.
Thorswrath is ruled by one of the powerful Sea Kings, Tellun Mainmast. Tellun oversees a bleak coastal city whose economy depends heavily upon fish, whaling, and the plundering of far-flung coastal settlements. Tellun receives yearly tribute from the League of Maritime Nations and so focuses the efforts of his raiding fleet to the east. This understanding with the League led to a fallout between the king and his rival in Harstad, who betrayed and turned on the fleet from Thorswrath at the end of the previous raiding season.
Men in Thorswrath are all capable sailors, and learn shipboard duties from the time they can walk.
Lumber in Thorswrath is etremely valuable as it is needed for the repair and construction of ships, and as such is often the target of Falbakian raiding party. Much of the tribute from the League has been sent in forms of lumber.
