Ulfhednar

The Ulfhednar, also known as the Wolfskins or Baranian Beserkers, are a group of fierce warriors who cover their heads and back in wolf skins before heading into battle. Found primarily in and around the city of Derna on the Baranian coast, they are renowned for their ferocity in battle, their remorselessness and complete unwillingness to surrender. They serve the Jarl of Derna, Sigurd the Black, and are used as shock troops during raids as they storm ashore in a berserk fury. The Ulfhednar are a secretive group that serves as an elite, extremely selective mercenary company.  They have historically been associated with the city of Derna, although their roots exist before the time of Baran the Navigator and the establishment of Barania.  Within the ranks of the Ulfhednar, are the select few known as the Steinhud, or Stone Fists.  They are thought to have troll or giant blood.  The Steinhud are the physically largest, toughest, best warriors within the Ulfhednar.  They are "created" in a secret ceremony within the Wyvernslair Mountains.
