Sister Janet

An elderly priestess of Eldath in the Port Temple of Wandering City, Sister Janet is reputed to be the embodiment of calm, moderation and generosity. Despite living in Red Glory, she speaks with a Corran accent. Sister Janet is training a novice to take over duties at the Temple after her passing and apparently adopted an orphan girl with some Elvish ancestry some years ago that has blossomed into a remarkably beautiful young woman. Vega Spritzer noticed her pointed ears at their first meeting and tailed her unnoticed to the Bard’s College.

Interpretation of Current Events

When Vega asked her about the possibility that Eldath was going on the offensive, following up from her experience at Echadnaur and an omen she obtained in the temple that day indicating a sea-change ahead, Sister Janet accepted the possibility. Eldath may be the Goddess of Peace, but in her mortal life she was a fearless adventurer against impossible odds. She denied, however, that Eldath or she herself would have much to do with arcane magic; and thus wondered what the goddess could possibly have had in mind by causing their paths to cross…

Lack of Infernal Expertise

Following a conversation on 20th Winterfall 866, Sister Janet informed Vega Spritzer that she had no particular skill with demons, though she had some passing knowledge. She was able to identify the signet of The Purple Peach demon as belonging to a Loumara : a very ancient but not particularly powerful form of demon.   She admitted her guards and wards on the chapel were weak, managing only to reveal a demonic presence by displaying the real shadow of Torwall's Patron while it took another form. She advised Vega that she was not an exorcist, but that one of the most skilled exorcists in all the land was right there on the shell: Adalberto Veno apparently made his name as a demon-hunter.   After this conversation, as The Ladies' Hiking Club discussed what to do with their IOU, Sister Janet placed her wine glass upside-down without spilling a drop, suggested in a foreign voice that they could always cash it in, and then returned to normal with gravity seizing the wine and spilling it everywhere.
