Isalde Nyross, Nightstar
Many Seekers have been brought to this place, to discuss the flow of information within the city. Most are too blinded by the Academy's training to see the truth of their own position. It is refreshing to find such a skilled seeker with an open mind. Be my eyes in the Order, and the Nyross will be your eyes and ears in the city.
Nightstar Isalde Nyross is the current head of the Nyross Information Guild, and Mother of the dark family behind it. She is young to be leading the family and ruthless, while hiding power behind a regal bearing and appearance. Isalde became acquainted with Navin during one of his shifts as a Spark in the Lightbringer Spire the year after his graduation from the Academy. Their second meeting was in a Shining Roads market center soon after his promotion to Seeker. The third meeting was in her audience hall when Seeker Navin was brought in to meet with Mother Nyross. Isalde had seen great potential in him as the guild observed his ascension through the Lightbringer ranks. Plenty of young seekers had shown similar promise to a lesser extreme. Even if he did not know it himself, the character he had shown and the confirmation from the Nyross Soulscribe made it clear; Navin would be an agent of change, and Isalde was ready to direct that change to her benefit like any other resource.
After meeting Navin formally as the Nightstar, Isalde and Navin worked together on many of his investigations in the Fog Zone of the city. At times she would provide information to Navin through younger Nyross members, while others she would travel with him to look into problems and concerns heavily effecting the Fog Zone. What had started as a business transaction grew into a steady friendship. When Navin ended up leaving Chronwhorl, Isalde maintained his contacts and covered much of his actions and intentions to keep them safe from the Order.
Appearance
Isalde appears to be a young woman in her early to mid twenties. She has dark skin and rich, curly, dark hair. While dark skin is quite common in Chronwhorl, her skin is dark due to her mythic heritage. Generations of the women in her family had selectively bred with mythics to increase the family strength and access to elemental power. Her own coloring and ability comes mainly from her father's strong connection to stone and soil.Isalde's overall appearance is carefully cultivated for impact and purpose. A the Mother of a guild built around collecting information and theft conducted under the perpetual Radiance of the disk, bright and pure nobility is the perfect disguise Her regular clothing consists of a tight top styled like a military coat and loose pants that flow like skirts. The top is bright white with gold thread accents and embroidered filigree. The pants are styled in a Shining Roads fashion of many layers of thin floaty fabric in white, cream, and gold. The innermost layers are shaped into pants with several of the outer layers wrapped around to form skirts. The result is a light billowing outfit that can still keep in enough heat for the chill of the Fog Zone. The final piece of Isalde's appearance is shimmering gold designs on her face, tracing along her brow and down each cheek. No one outside the family who is familiar with Isalde knows the source of these markings. Some have speculated that they are tattoos using inks that shimmer in the light. Others assert that is is simply cosmetics to grab attention. In truth, these patterns are a blend of cosmetics and a natural vein of gold flecks that grow within the skin of her face. The cosmetics accent this natural mineral while obscuring the visual proof of the Myth-touched nature.

Personality
Isalde was marked by the Nyross Soulscribe as the next family leader when she was very young. By the time she began to manifest elemental abilities she was already being trained on how to run the family, and she officially took over on her eighteenth birthday. One side effect of being told she was special her whole life is an inflated ego and entitlement. The entitlement was diminished quickly when assassins tried to kill her on the night she officially became Mother Nyross, but fending them off only served to inflate her ego further.While Isalde is the Mother of a large information guild, she does not have a lot of opportunity to interact with others on a one on one basis. When she and Navin first started working together she would just send him information through an intermediary guild member. Over time his refusal to simply respect and obey her caused her to start following him in casual clothing and getting to know him. They slowly became friends and he made her doubt many assumptions she had growing up. She is still arrogant, but tends to give others a chance to show who they are before considering them to be lesser.
Once she gained the freedom to traverse the city with Navin, Isalde's curiosity became insatiable. Her pride does not always allow her to ask about things she's interested in, but she is more than willing to linger in an area and watch something that catches her eye until she fully understands it.
