Anaemin Ocerusth

Anaemin Ocerusth (a.k.a. Anaemis Epoch)

Ocerus born and raised. Anaemin Ocerusth was born and raised in the protectorate of Ocerus. Anaemin was destined to rule the Ocerus after his father. Anaemins days were filled with training drills, military strategy classes, and on rare occasions expeditions to other protectorates or underwater settlements. Anaemin loved his home fiercely and was taught that protecting it and its people was of the utmost importance. For without the protectorates all realms would be lost.   Protector of the Deep. Anaemin was also taught that it was his peoples and another triton protectorates duty to hunt all underwater threats that had come from the realm of endless water. While the way was closed to the endless waters his people followed those threats here to put a stop to them where ever they may arise. Most commonly his people fight Sahuagin, Merfolk, and water elementals, his people are trained to fight more difficult foes like Sea Hags, Aboliths, or Krakens. Some among the ranks of the protectorates have taken down such foes marking more superior than others.   Coral wars. Something Sinister stirred below the ocean's surface and to combat it the ocean's nations had to unite. Not all were amenable to this and so the coral wars began, it would be decided on the fields of battle who if any would lead the nations to fight the looming threat. Ocerus and its people ultimately lost and the ocean realms united under sea elf rule. Those who rebelled were either imprisoned or put to execution. To Anaemin's belief, his entire protectorate was slaughtered, believing no other choice Anaemin fled to the surface world.   Surfaced. The days that followed for Anaemin on the surface were bizarre, losing the ability to move up and down at will bewildered Anaemin. Walking, climbing, and jumping were all such alien forms of mobility. While Anaemin had been trained to do so, subscribing it as a primary form of mobility took some getting used to. Though Anaemin had always been a fast learner and before long he found himself in a port village known as Squrcha. While he wasn't exactly welcomed with open arms his ability to navigate and travel the ocean realm fast became an advantage. In the early days, he fished and recovered things thought lost to the ocean. Before too long the peoples of Squrchar saw his value and embraced him, Anaemin became one of the locals and he grew fond of them too.   Braxton 'The Fox' Stamper. Being a port village, ships that docked soon caught wind of the Triton of Squrcha. A one Braxton 'The Fox' Stamper made introductions and offered a position in his smuggling operation. At first, Anaemin was hesitant but after many philosophical conversations on a moral perspective, Anaemin agreed to join. In doing so Anaemin decided that he would uplift his new home Squrcha and its people. He planned to build walls to protect Squrcha from the lands and build ships to protect it from the Ocean. He would not lose another home, not if he could help it.   A smuggler with a heart. The time spent with Braxton Taught Anaemin a lot, like who decided what was right from wrong. Could evil be defined? Ultimately Anaemin decided that he was the adjudicator of such things in the sphere of influence. He was the master of his and the others under his commands actions. After working for Braxton for many years he earned enough to achieve his goal, Squrcha became walled and the port had several ships docked for defense. Knowing the trade of smuggling he also invested in crews who could work out of Squrcha under his command, before long his business was well established and officially was a shipping business with high deliverance rates due to the expertise of his crews. Not even the Pirate King himself was able to take a prize from the Triton of Squrcha.   The mayor of Squrcha. Due to his great deed in uplifting Squarcha, spearheading many campaigns in its improvement it wasn't long before Anaemin caught the eye of the Sudiek's. Not only had they used his services and been presently surprised in the Tritons services they recognized that Anaemin was a man of industry. Investing in him would bring nothing but gains if the tritons trajectory continued to travel the way it did. So Anemin was named lord mayor of Squacha under the rule of Eleanora Sudiek.   Stolen love. The smuggler of Squrcha had stolen the heart of Eleanora Sudiek and before too long the two conceived a child, scared for what the noble family may do if they found out about the pregnancy, Anaemin hatched a scheme. He would stage a kidnapping and smuggle his love and unborn child out of the clutches of the Sudieks. He would of course need a scapegoat, so taking advantage of the situation he decided to frame a competitor. The Sudieks brought the expected wrath upon the competitor wiping the completion from existence. With Eleanora lost a new noble was appointed to rule over her holdings. Her cruel and paranoid brother Rafferty Sudiek.   Trouble on all fronts. Rafferty's rule proved troublesome for Anaemin as the noble proved more tyrant than the latter. Random cargo checks and the insistence of Sudiek men on deck proved to cut into Anaemin's affairs, The business began to suffer. Anaemin also had not heard from Eleanora in almost a year, her voyage was planned to bring her to the Storus where asylum had been arranged. Anaemin poured many resources into tracking her down eventually his investigation found that Eleanora had been captured by the pirate King. Anaemin got word to the captor and a meeting was arranged.   Onboard. When Anaemin met the pirate King, he could not believe his eyes. He had heard stories but believed them to be a myth. Exaggerated truths to inflate the actuality of the being. The Pirate King was a storm giant. If that was true then surely the stories of being a champion of Thrum the god of the tempest were. To Anaemin's surprise, the giant was charming if not kind. Though what he did could be seen as evil, those under his care were protected and safe. Those he took from were villainous. It accused to Anaemin that perhaps the Pirate King had spared his ships all these years. The Pirate King spoke of Eleanora's being targeted by a pirate vessel that was not under his command. He and his crew took both Eleanora's ship and the un-allied ship. It was discovered that the ship belonged to the Sudieks. Fearing for the mother and child the Pirate King took them into his charge, giving them passage to a far-off place. It was done in secrecy with his best crew. The Pirate King knew that Anaemin would eventually find him and thought it best to not send correspondence into the hostile realm of Eshidore which was under Sudiek rule. Anaemin didn't even have to ask the Pirate King who had sent the assassination. Anaemin thanked the pirate king for his aid. After many drinks and talks of adventures on the high sea a recognition of kindred spirits became apparent between the two of them. The pirate King offered to help Anaemin with the revenge he was undoubtedly plotting. Though the pirate King warned that the assassination may lead to the expulsion of Squrcha.   We all play our part. As Raffety panicked looking in the cold eyes of vengeance that too roost in the expression of Anaemin, the noble begged and bartered. Though it fell on deaf ears, Anaemin would have his vengeance as there was no other prize he sought. It was quick and efficient as Anaemin never enjoyed taking life. Not wanting to tempt fate Anaemin planned to escape soon after the assassination, he had been offered a position in the ranks of the Pirate King. After rounding up what he could in crews he trusted, ships he believed suitable for his new position, and supplies needed for the journey his heart sank when he saw the armed troops on the docks. It was Eleanora's eldest brother Alastair Sudiek. Anaemin looked on as both the forces of Sudiek and Anaemin prepared for combat. Moments stretched as both exchanged words, Alastair had always respected Anaemin and suspected that his sister had a feeling for the triton. He offered one last chance to Anaemin, surrender, and face justice maintaining a fragment of the honor he once held or die in the streets of Squrcha, the settlement he had worked so hard to uplift. Anaemin wanting to spare the bloodshed offered to turn himself in under the condition that his men were free to go. Alastair agreed. Knowing Alastair to be an honorable man Anaemin stood down and was taken into custody. In the middle of the night Alastair visited Anaemin and questioned him, Anaemin told Alastair everything. To Anaemin's surprise on the next day Alastair broke Anaemin out of the cells and spirited him away to the pirate king. Anaemin asked Alastair why he did it, Alastair simply said "We all play our part.". On that day Alastair became Anaemin's closest friend and trusted ally. He was named the first man of Captain Anaemin Ocerusth.   Captain Anaemin Ocerusth. Captain Anaemin Ocerusth's pirate career was long and filled with infamy. He captured many prizes in the name of the Pirate King and fast became famous on the high seas. The pirate king eventually awarded the captain with an armada. A fleet of pirate ships that all bore the cut of the fish-faced mongrel. Using his understanding of the seas and smuggling there was no prize he did not take. Though all the plundering and capturing did nothing to fill the void of missing his love Elenora and the child he wished to meet. Though he knew he could never see them as it would endanger them, in his years on the sea Anaemin and Alastair both had multiple assassination attempts on their lives. Alastair swore that he was the only one who knew that Eleanora was alive and went to great lengths to retain that before they left Squrcha.   Xoudicca of Skallamyr. Anaemin's long career on the ocean and his reputation for uplifting Squrcha caught the eye of the Jarl of Skallamyr. Anaemin was invited to Xoudicca's court. Xoudicca instantly saw the potential in the fish-faced mongrel. She recognized his Saga and gave him his own name out of respect. Xoudicca also offered Anaemin the opportunity to become one of the "Fathers of Skallamyr. If he accepted, he would be one of the forefathers of a new Skallamyr. He would uplift it and help it thrive. In return, she would give him a child who would one day grow to become one of the leaders of Skallamyr and more. Anaemin was tired of pirating and his heart longed for Eleanora and his child. Though Xoudicca was not offering companionship she was offering him the opportunity to be a father. He agreed under the condition that he would be apart of the raising of the child. Xoudicca agreed though the child would be raised as an Ostedorian.   The child, Typhos. Typhos was born on a month ravaged by storms. Many storm speakers foretold of the storm lord being too happy to contain himself. Those foolish enough to tempt the seas found themselves wrecked or lost. When Anaemin met his son for the first time he wept, the only time he had done so in the past was when Eleanor told him they were having a child. It was this day that Anaemin decided that he would retire as a pirate. It would take time as arrangements needed to be made. The child was born true as a triton and showed a strong affinity for the tempest. Typhos's childhood was a regimen of training, learning navel strategies as well as leadership exercises. By the age of 10, Typhos was given command of his first ship under the command of Xuodicca. On its first voyage, the ship was lost. Panicked Anaemin traveled out onto the sea once more to find his son. Anaemin spent many weeks searching, even going as far as contacting the Pirate King asking for aid once more. The pirate king found Typhos, he had been found by a group of underwater dwellers, Anaemin's old enemies the Sahuign. The pirate king and Anaemin single-handedly saved Typhos. When they found him his body had been tattooed with tentacles and carved into his chest was the shape of an eye. From this point on Typhos was suspicious of Xoudicca, why had she sent the boy on a voyage on his own. What had attacked the ship and what was the purpose of tattoos and the carving on Typhos's chest.   Descaled. As typhos grew more into the position that Anaemin once held he could not be prouder of his son. Though this left Anaemin with little responsibility as his son was being groomed to replace him. Retirement had a dull ache to it and the seas once again called. Anaemin once again began sailing cargo ships along the coasts of Ostedor and Eshidore using his contacts to keep his ships safe. The voyages were nothing like the days of old, but the open waters lent room for contemplation. His time in the court of Xoudicca had thought him not to challenge the woman. Her will was too strong, her ambition burnt too hot. He hoped that the wisdom he had tried to instill in his son would one day help quelch those fires from burning to hot.         Art belongs to (Place-Holder please change later): https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/166985098672685145/
