Faykeep

An island off the coast of Eastern Eskye, it is an island inhabited and ruled by purebred elves and most fae. Other inhabitants include dwarves, half elves, and a very small percentage of changelings though no one knows exactly how many. There are rumors of human inhabitants but only those in Faykeep truly know.   Faykeep was created roughly after the Great Divide. It used to be a part of Eskye, but then a handful of powerful elven magic users with the help of some fae broke away and settled several hundred miles away from the mainland. There the elves created a strong hold and built high walls around the islands. It is nearly impossible to enter into Faykeep. There are only three ways to get in:
  • Being of elven blood and petitioning to enter into Faykeep (you must be of at least 1/4th elven blood)
  • Having a formal invitation from the high court of elves or the Empress herself
  • Smuggling.
Through these methods you are allowed to enter, though once you enter you may never leave again, unless invited. It is much easier to leave Faykeep than to enter, as the methods are either breaking taboos or smuggling.   Faykeep is ruled by Empress Uladove Valfiel. She has reigned for more than 300 years. No one knows how truly old she is but the previous royal couple who reigned before was long forgotten and destroyed through mysterious means. Empress Uladove claims that her parents have been killed in the Great Divide and that is why they must separate themselves from the mortals. She has been on the throne since.   Faykeep is ruled by a monarchy, and has three major cities: Fyrora the capitol, Faefortas, and Yalsera. Tehre are sprinklings of smaller communities here and there.
